"Wait a minute," Brianna said. "How can the computer identify werepanther DNA if we have no sources listed in the computer?"
She took a moment to call up the child's DNA scan and look it over. Specifically she looked over the computer's methods to identifying the child's make up. It became quite clear after a moment what had happened.
The computer had noted the lycanthrope matrix, lacking the flaws in Brianna's and Grave's own coding, in the child's DNA and then found the connected DNA and identified two strains, cheetah and panther. Brianna leaned back for a moment and thought about that.
Gina had taught the computer to detect the lycanthrope strains, but she hadn't taught the computer to make guesses like this. So, just how had it happened?
It was simple, of course, the computer had compared the sample DNA to Gina's modest library (compared to Talon's) of such and found it to match up most with a panther's. Therefore, the classification of werepanther.
"I wonder if this is how the half-breeds can take the birth forms of either parent," Brianna wondered idly.
The regeneration tank signalled the end of its work with a slight "ding" and then Brianna let the fluid drain away before going in to lift the sleeping Grave on to a bed.
The matter was going to be delicate pretty soon. Judging by comments the girl had made, her DNA and ether scans. Brianna and Grave were the same person, but from different universes. And it was apparent that she had not had a good life in that universe. Brittany, at least, sounded to be a not-nice person over there, and the comment about a 'dangerous experiment' gave Brianna her doubts about Gina as well.
Now, the question was, just how badly would the girl freak out. And would she pull a Grave Digger on Brianna in a fit of self-defense?
