Setsuna concentrated. The Time Gates showed her a luxurious restaurant/bar/select club in the wealthiest part of Tokyo. The sign outside told her its name: the Platinum.
Motoki Furuhata was cleaning the counter when he heard the door opening. He brightened, recognizing the owner of this fine establishment "Good evening, Boss! How are you today?"
Ranma Saotome smiled and waved back at his barman and cocktail expert "Good evening, Motoki. I'm fine. And you?"
"Same old, same old..." the blonde man commented, now checking up on his stock of drinks "Only one hour until we open" Then as an afterthought, he added in a somewhat conspirational tone "Ami and Rei aren't there yet. But Makoto and Minako are in the changing-room though. Just so you know..."
Ranma nodded, the picture of calm, but inside he was sweating "Thanks" He left the counter and went directly for his office, carefully avoiding making noise when passing near the changing-room.
Oh, he didn't hate Makoto Kino and Minako Aino. Not at all. It was just that their flirtatious ways made him uncomfortable. Said flirtation was almost unbearable when they were dressed in their working outfits. All the girls working at the Platinum wore bunnygirls costumes, it was one of the main attractions of the place. The excellent european cuisine and the extensive bar were only distant seconds.
The Platinum wasn't some kind of prostitution joint however. The patrons could look but not touch. Many of the bunnygirls were under-age after all.
Ranma sat at his office and decided to go through the papers and the club's accounting. This was a part of his job he didn't relish in the slightest but it had to be done. He sighed heavily, thinking back to how he had ended up as the owner and manager of the Platinum.
His father, Genma Saotome, had been a great martial artist. He had taken him on a martial arts training trip when he had been very young, hoping to pass his art on his son and make him the greatest fighter of his generation. Unfortunately, an encounter with the car of the Chiba family on a rainy night had put a tragic end to that dream. Ranma had been the sole survivor.
So Ranma went back to live with his mother. His life became more 'normal'. While he still pursued martial arts, he didn't go through the 'intense' training his father had intended for him. He was good but barely rated above Akane Tendo and Tatewaki Kuno in terms of superhuman displays.
Then a few months earlier, his grandfather Tetsuo Saotome called him and invited him to the club Platinum, which he owned at the time. There he told him it was high time for him to retire and gave the club to his favorite (and only) grandson. He left Japan the following day with his new wife (much younger than him, still manly at his age in his mother's terms) for a World Tour slash Honeymoon slash Pleasure Ride.
Nodoka had been delighted. She had been raised in this atmosphere (explaining why she had some peculiar ideas on manliness) and endlessly encouraged her son to be a worthy owner for her father's club. Any thoughts of her manly son peeping on or having sex with one or more of his sexy bunnygirl waitresses didn't cross her mind at the time, really.
Now, Ranma had to go through his first year of university and manage the Platinum at the same time. And let's not forget trying to maintain a strictly professional relationship with his female employees.
But that wasn't Ranma's biggest problem. Something had awakened in him since hentai monsters had started appearing in Tokyo. With only a code phrase, Ranma Saotome could transform into Playboy Kamen, the bishonen senshi of Love and Manliness! It was so embarrassing...
Still, it had allowed him to meet Bunnygirl Moon. He had to admit that she was pretty cute...
