She had first felt the bonds weaken when Ranma had taken the Phoenix Pill to cure himself of the Full Body Cat’s Tongue. There are three types of phoenix in existence. The first type is the Elemental Phoenix, the Elemental kind has four subtypes: Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire. The second type is the Aurora Phoenix such as Saffron and his people. The third are the Celestial Phoenix who wander the space ways and are bodiless. The Phoenix Pill was made from a feather of a Fire Elemental Phoenix.
The Hiryu Shoten Ha training helped Ranma to better control his ki. The Mouka Takibisha was an outward projection of his ki, enhancing his control and his reserves. The revised Hiryu Shoten Ha was an even greater exercise in ki control. All of these weakened the chains even further.
The splitting incense actually was closer to working than Happosai realized. If he hadn’t actually screwed up somewhere it would have separated her from Jusenkyo as well as Ranma. Instead it split Ranma’s mind into good and evil, putting one half into her body and leaving the other in his body.
A major factor in her release was the battle of Jusendo. Saffron power was so much greater than a normal Aurora Phoenix that it was comparable to some minor kami. While fighting Saffron, Ranma unconsciously absorbed some of his powers and some from the Gekkaja Staff.
She was unsure of how she had been split from him so early, but something about the virus was probably involved. It was possible that the virus had detected a foreign presence and tried to fight the curse, and expelled the weakened magic. With no more hold on him and her constantly pushing against the bonds, Jusenkyo was no longer able to maintain its hold on her. Ranko sighed, it was a good theory but it may not be right. She was going to have to ask Cologne for her help and her opinion. Tofu and Happosai may also have a few ideas. She smiled as she went to sleep with Ranma as he was finally going to bed.
