Sakura was not the only "otherworlder" to reside in Ranguard. There were other people who, had someone with the proper knowledge seen them, would have been identified as belonging to some other setting. Such was the case with the ninja girl.
Setsuna was an interesting mix of bloodlines. Her dusky skin and red eyes marked her drow parentage, while the deep green of her hair attested to her aquatic elf side. As a full-blooded elf, she was somewhat older than the other children, though she didn't look it, and was prone to being cryptic, sneaky and all-around mysterious - though Ranma half-suspected that this was mostly just to annoy Sakura. The mixed elf ninja and the half-elven samurai did not get along at ALL well, though both sides were sufficiently mature and civilised to restrain themselves to cutting remarks, and avoid erupting into outright violence. Most of the time, at any rate.
In any case, Setsuna's presence was easily explained. In addition to being a highly-trained ninja, she was also a low-level priestess of Eilistraee, with a talent for divination. It wouldn't have been difficult for her to get wind of the coming adventure.
The question Ranma now considered was whether the usefulness of Setsuna's skills and abilities outweighed the headaches her presence would cause.
