Soun Tendo has just gotten mail from his old friend Genma and told his daughters about the postcard and the engagement. At this time it is normal, that there is a knock at the door.
"I'll open it," Nabiki said and straitened her kimono.
She left the living room and went to the door. She opened it and looked directly into a black and white wall. She blinked once, before looking up and into the furry face of a really big panda.
"Wha..."
"Father," a cultured sounding female voice said from behind the panda," I already said that it's illogical to show up in our cursed forms."
The panda turned around to look at the source of the voice, allowing Nabiki to see the person who talked. As she saw the person she did a double take. The stood a maybe 170 centimeter tall, young woman with flaming red hair, pointed ears, strange formed eyebrows and a black and grey colored Star Trek uniform from the last part of DS9 and the last three films. The uniform had the rank-markings of a lieutenant. Whoever the girl was, with the calm, emotionless face and the uniform and the whole rest, she made a very good imitation of a Vulcan Starfleet officer.
The girl looked at Nabiki, as the other family members came to the door to look what was going on. As they saw the panda and the girl, they blinked, while Kasumi started to smile a bit more than her usual smile.
The girl bowed in a greeting.
"I am Ranma Saotome. I'm sorry..."
Before she could continue, Soun glomped into her, trying to squeeze all air from her lungs.
"At least," hew literally screamed," You have come son."
The girl, Ranma, responded at doing the Vulcan nerve pinch, sending Soun into Morpheus arms.
"It think it would be better," Ranma said calmly," When we wait for him to recover before I start to explain."
While speaking, she send a glare at the panda.

A few minutes later, Soun came back into the land of the living and saw the panda and the girl sitting at the table in the living room, together with his daughters and a kettle of warm water.
"What..." she started, but was interrupted by Ranma, who nodded.
"I'm sorry, Tendo-san. I think I should explain the problem of me and my father. You see, while being in China we went to Jusenkyo, a cursed training ground. IT is a training ground where you use poles to train over several hundred ponds. When you fall into one of the ponds, you take on the shape of the animal or human that drowned there. Cold water activates the curse, hot water deactivates it."
She tool, the kettle and held it over the panda.
"We fought there and my father fell into one of the ponds. The 'Spring of drowned Panda'. Every time he gets into contact with cold water he takes on the form of a panda."
With that she poured hot water on the panda, who turned into a pudgy man in a white gi, a bandana covering his head and glasses in his face. He smiled nervously. The Tendo-girls stared.
"Saotome," Soun said.
"Tendo," the man answered.
"Genma," Soun said.
"Soun," the man answered.
With that the two went to bearhug each other.
"Aham," Ranma made, drawing the looks of everyone back to her.
"After my father fell into the spring and came out as a panda, I unfortunly decided to stare at him, so he was able to knock me into the 'Spring of drowned girl'. Shocked about my own change I strumbled backwards into the only uncused spring, the 'Spring of Fantasy'. Everyone who fall into it is changed into a person he wants to be in his or her imagination. In my case both curses mixed."
With that she poured the remaining water over herself, turning from the redhaired Vulcan Starfleet office into a slightly taller, very nervous boy, in a black and red chinese outfit. He nervously scratched the back of his head.
"In my case the girl-curse and a Vulcan Starfleet office I have imagined for a few years."
Genma started to wail and threw Ranma out of the room, directly into the koi pond.
"Oh the shame, my son turned into a girly Trekie."
Than he produced a bottle, filled with water and put it on the desk. It was labled with 'Spring of Fantasy'.
"But I was able to get some of the water. So that my beat friend could turn into a superhero, should the Master return."
Soun and Genma shuddered. The now Vulcan Ranma returned to the table and sat down next to Genma. She ignored Genma for the time being, as the fathers somehow went into some mode and fatasied about Souns new form.
Than Genma grapped the bottle and opened it to pour the water inside over Soun. Ranma's reaction to this was to nerv-pinch her father, which caused him to loose hold on the bottle. The bottle dropped on the table and fell to the side, the water flowing over the table towards the Tendo-girls.
