Peace & Understanding: Others Understand (DARK) [Episode 91993]

by Will McDuff

Cologne looked on, concerned about her granddaughter as she braced herself against the wastepaper basket, still feeling a little nauseous. "{Are you alright, Xian Pu?}" she asked in Chinese.

Shampoo shook her head in negation. "{Grandmother. Husband...Ranma is ...not strong.}"

Cologne looked surprised. "{But he defeated you, didn't he?}"

"{Yes, but...}" Shampoo paused, considering. "{His mind is broken, his heart is bruised. He will bring weakness to the clan.}"

Cologne raised an eyebrow a little further. "{I know, my granddaughter. But his body is strong, and his heart, though bruised, is still good, I think. I thought that enough. Still, what brought on this bout of clarity?}"

"{I...I know what he knows-}" Shampoo began.

"{Bah. A squirrel knows that much,}" grumbled Mousse, earning him whack on the noggin from Cologne's stick, and a backhand to the face from Shampoo. He shut up, if for no other reason that unconsciousness.

"{I have faint memories of going from town to town, of the torturous training.}" Shampoo considered this for a moment. "{Excuse me, grandmother. I think I am honor-bound to kill Genma Saotome.}"

Cologne didn't have time to react to this pronouncement before Shampoo rose and whirled in one motion, grabbing her bonbari from the wall as she stalked out of the restaurant. {He...fears me? Not only in my cat form?} Shampoo thought to herself as she stalked towards the Tendo Dojo. She was confused. But, despite the thoughts whirling around in her head, turning a panda into paste seemed like a good idea.

In another restaurant across town, the grill sprinklers had just kicked in, putting out the small, smoldering, blackened okonomiyaki that remained on the grill.

After the first heave, she had simply thrown the lot of them out, promising free lunches for several of her customers to do so. And then she emptied her insides into the nearest garbage.

Images flashed through her head. A friend. Just a friend is all he thought of her. No romantic fancies, no notions, no nothing. She'd stayed around so long, and nothing?

Still, it wasn't all that surprising, given Ran-chan's background. The cat-fist, the stealing, listening to his father. Damn that old geezer. He deserved...

Picking up her spatula, she barely noticed the acid smell of burnt cabbage assailing her nose as she headed out, locking the door behind her.

Kasumi sighed. She had felt sick for a moment, but it wasn't nearly as bad for her as it had been for the others. She wouldn't allow herself to be sick, as it was impossible to be a good host in such a condition.

Still, she considered for a moment asking Mr. Soatome to leave. He hadn't been a very good host to Ranma, had he? Perhaps she should ask him to leave.

Ah, but she couldn't. Mr. Soatome was her father's guest, really. She resolved to talk to her father about it, and simply set the table up to Mr. Soatome's disadvantage. Perhaps if she sat between father and son, she could help as well.

"Oh my," Kasumi said sadly. It was a shame what Ranma had to endure as a guest of his father's.
