Then the ten cats started meowing around Ranma, and started running off. "HEY! Where are you cats going?" She asked, as she started running after the cats. She didn't know why they were running, and knew even less about why they stopped suddenly...
Until she went over the edge of the cliff they were sitting on.
"THIS STINKS!!!" Ranma screamed as she went tumbling down the hill. Luckilly, thanks to SOME martial arts already ingraned into th youth's body, she was able to right herself easilly half-way down, and start running the rest of the way down the hill. She was then breathing heavilly.
"Oh man... HUFF... This... PUFF... Is the pits..." Ranma said as she was breathing. She then heard a voice.
"Hey kid, you okay?" The female voice asked. Looking up, Ranma saw a five of the most interesting people. She could tell they were all foreigners, but some of the most interesting looking ones. One was a blonde-haired girl with really thick glasses. Another was a tall blond-haired girl with cat-ears. The third was what looked like a cheetah woman, hugging onto the fourth person who looked like soe sort of tiger man. And the fifth looked like some effeminate little guy with bronze skin and... Horns?
"I told you this place wouldn't be secluded enough." The blonde-haired girl with glasses said as she looked over at girl with cat-ears.
"Pfft! You're just angry because Ryan couldn't come with us Gina." The cat-eared girl said back to the girl Ranma now knew as 'Gina'.
Ranma watched the two bicker for a moment more, and then finally her stomach growled loudly, causing everyone to look at her. "Excuse me..."
"What's your name? Are you hungry?" The cheetah woman asked Ranma.
Nodding her head Ranma spoke, albeit hesitantly. "My name is Ranma. And I am hungry."
"Okay..." The cheetah woman said. Moving over to the picnic basket, the cheetah woman took out a tunafish sandwich and held it out to Ranma. "Here you go."
Drooling slightly, Ranma said, "Thanks!" then grabbed the sandwich and demolished it in under 3 seconds. "Delicious!" Ranma then noticed that everyone was staring at her. "Did I do something wrong."
"Well Britanny..." Brianna said to the cheetah woman. "I never thought I'd say it, but there IS someone that can eat tuna faster than us."
"I'll say so..." Britanny said.
Suddenly, there was another rumbling sound from Ranma's stomach. "May I have another one?"
"Sure kid..." Brianna said as she dug into the picnic basket and pulled out another sandwich. "When was the last time you ate?"
"Accepting the sandwich, Ranma replied. "Yesterday, before daddy left me because I was a girl..." Ranma was about to eat, but was stopped as the tiger-man scooted over to her and placed his righ hand on her left shoulder.
"Excuse me... What do you mean by that?" The tiger-man asked.
Ranma shook her head. "You wouldn't..." Ranma then stopped. She was talking to a tiger-man for crying out loud, what would he not believe? "Well... Okay... You see..."
A half hour later, there was a bit of a tearful reply from Ranma's audience, after she had told them what had happened with her father, the genie, and her turning into a girl. "Can you all stop crying now, please?" Ranma asked politely.
Ranma was then startled as Brianna stood up. "Ranma! After hearing your story, I know how to help you. I'll adopt you!"
Genn spit out of the bit of tuna sandwich he had in his mouth and stared at Brianna. "BUT LEGALLY, YOU'RE ONLY FOUR-YEARS-OLD YOURSELF! HOW ARE YOU GOING TO ADOPT A KID OLDER THAN YOU!"
Blinking, Ranam asked, "Adopt me?"
"Sure!" Brianna said. "I'd love to!"
And so Ranma was scammed... Er... 'invited' to become part of the Diggers family.
"Don't worry Ranma! I promise to be the best role model you could ever have!"
Ranma smiled. She was happy someone wanted her. She then noticed the cats came back and were purring.
"Isn't this a great idea? And maybe Dao can help her!" Brianna asked, smiling.
*blink* *blink* "S&M?"
"Never speak back to a woman who carries a tazor to a picnic."
