"Rei-chan! Rei-chan! What's wrong? Are you okay? Are you hurt? Are you... oh..."
Rei turned to face her two friends and fellow priestesses, Usagi-chan and Ami-chan. It was Usagi who had said that, and Rei wished that it wasn't her who said that. Of all the people who could've stumbled upon Rei and Ranma, Usagi was the worst possible person to do so.
Usagi blinked guilelessly at Rei and Ranma. "Oh, my... Rei-chan, I don't think the Holy Spring of the Moon Goddess is the proper place to hold your illicit romance!" she advised.
"WHAAAT?!!" Rei shrieked.
Ami sighed in parental disappointment. "I'll have to agree with Usagi, Rei. You really shouldn't desecrate the Holy Spring with your perverted lusts. If you wanted temple sex, you should've joined the Temple of the Overfiend," admonished the smartest of the temple priestess. Smartest, at least, in terms of raw intellect. Wisdom was another matter.
"Ami! I'm NOT desecrating anything!" protested Rei.
"Besides, Ami, that temple is practically a raped-woman factory! No matter how sex-mad Rei-chan is, she's not going to that temple," added Usagi helpfully.
Rei turned a sharp glare in Usagi's direction. "You're not helping, Usagi," she hissed.
Ami thought a bit before answering, "Okay, so don't join the Temple of the Overfiend, but I recommend practicing your perverted lusts elsewhere."
"I wasn't practicing my perverted lusts here!"
Ami looked scandalized, her hands flying to her mouth to stifle a gasp as her eyes went wide. "You mean you DO have perverted lusts? That's not something you just out and admit to, Rei-chan."
"You know what I mean!!" Rei swore one day these two would drive her batty.
Ranma saw his chance to slip out before whatever storm was brewing caught up with him. He started sneaking slowly around the arguing priestesses, inching ever closer to his goal of the exit and salvation.
"Not so fast, you!" growled Rei, hand flashing out. A nimbus of angry red flame formed around it. "Try to leave, and you fry!" she warned. Ranma obediently froze.
"Rei, I think you should start treating your boyfriend nicer," Ami warned, putting a comforting hand on Rei's shoulder. "Nice pieces of beefcake like him don't come around everyday..."
"Ami!! I barely even know him!"
"You mean you go through them like muffins? Then that means you must have hidden even beefier beefcake elsewhere! Oh, Rei-chan!" came Ami's disapproving response. "Why don't you share with your two closest friends? I thought we deserved better!"
"NGRRR!" came Rei's inarticulate growl of frustration. Her eyes tracked to the cringing Ranma. "This is all your fault, intruder!" she growled.
"Look at how unashamedly she addresses him! While she is in the nude, no less!" the shocked Ami whispered to Usagi.
"Definitely love, that it is!" Usagi whispered back, nodding sagely.
Rei, with better-than-average hearing, twitched upon hearing the exchange. No doubt within a day the entire temple would know a distorted version of her 'indiscretion'. Damn those two and their rumor mill!
