The day had started out like a normal day, a brisk wake up call followed by light sparring session. Breakfast however had been a strange affair, as the two youngest Tendou's gave him the oddest looks he had ever seen. They weren't quite sad, but they were definately unenergetic, which made him wonder if something bad had happened.
Such thoughts were brushed away as he saw Kasumi, who was exuding the health and vitality of ten normal housewives. Her dress was an elaborate multi-layered affair that seemed to flow around her body instead of merely covering it. Her skin had a healthy almost glowing light tan to it, while her breasts seemed to be the size of her head. Even stranger for Kasumi were the golden bracelets, anklets, earrings and hair ornaments she was wearing, along with a delicate make-up job that for some reason included a blue crescent moon on her forehead and golden circles on her cheeks.
Ranma of course realized all of this and greeted Kasumi with all of the tact and understanding his upbringing had taught him. "Morning Kasumi. Hey, did you do something with your hair or something?"
Nabiki raised an incredulous eyebrow as Akane banged her head into the table, though Kasumi just took it in stride. "Why yes Ranma-san, thank you for noticing."
As breakfast dishes floated in from the kitchen, Ranma felt that something was wrong with this situation. "Hey, ya don't got ta be so formal Kasumi."
Nabiki at this point buried her head in shame against the table top, unable to bear watching those two at work.
Kasumi smilied indulgently at the young man as she personally served him. "Well, it's only proper as your new Heavenly Guardian Angel."
At that moment, the reality filter in Ranma's subconscious decided to cough up a hairball. It did this often for some reason. "Uhm, Guardian Angel?"
Putting a hand to her mouth to politely cover her shock, Kasumi stood up and gave Ranma a deep introductory bow. "Ah, forgive me, I forgot to introduce myself. As the Golden and Silver Shitenrin chose you for the blessings of the heavens, I was chosen by the Sun and the Moon to be your Heavenly Guardian Angel."
Seeing Ranma's continued blank stare, Kasumi returned to her seat beside him, having displaced Genma to sit beside her father earlier. "Aaahmm, well, it's like this Ranma, because you're pure hearted, spirits came out of the Shitenrin to find hosts to be your gaurdian angels. A Moon spirit looks for someone to guard you, while a Sun spirit looks for someone to make you happy. I was lucky enough to be chosen by both. Now I get to be a magical girl like I always wanted, and I can even change my powers by dressing up like someone different."
This of course obviously flew over Ranma's head, though he did pick up that whatever had happened, Kasumi was happy.
Nabiki took this as an oppurtunity to perk up and satisfy her curiousity, finally popping her head up from the table. "Uhm, so big sister, where did you get your. . inspiration from?"
The eldest and now heavenly Tendou beamed her middle sister a smile as she was happy to talk about one of her interests. "Oh, why Flower Goddess Mei. She's so healthy and lively."
At that point, Nabiki didn't know what to think. She had been thinking rejecting the offer to become an angel had been good, since Kasumi had been turned into some fantasy girl. Just hearing her older sister liked Jungle de Ikou made her want to give up the entire line of thought there. "Uh, yeah, is that all?" Mei after all had worn only a small bikini top and a flower shaped skirt that didn't hide her bikini bottom. Besides being very busty and healthy, Kasumi had little resemblance to the over endowed nature goddess.
Checking on Ranma out of the corner of her eye, Kasumi thought about it for a moment. "Well, Mei-san didn't seem quite fitting, so I styled her powers after Belldandy-san, Urd-san, and Peorth-san."
Nabiki at this point forgot about everything else as all of the clues came together. The facial marks, the casual usage of magic, the obviously magical clothing, the way Kasumi was literally floating around. Her dear, clueless, kind big sister now had enough power to . . . well. . do a fair imitation of Belldandy hooked up to Yggdrassil, and that was kind of scary.
Then another thought struck Nabiki. She could have such power as well. They hadn't talked about it, but she knew Akane had a similar dream where she got a similar introduction and offer to become such an angel. Of course the downside was that she would have to either protect or please Ranma, and while she wasn't keen on trying to protect him, the boy would be easy to please.
Thinking quickly, Nabiki excused herself, then started dragging her little sister away from the table, ignoring her little sister's half hearted protests. They really needed to have a little meeting about this, because Nabiki wasn't in any hurry to see if Kasumi could do an angry Belldandy impression.
As Ranma watched his fiancee leave under protest, he tried to figure out the new Kasumi while enjoying the attention. Ranma wasn't a stranger to girls being nice to him, but usually there was some obvious reason. Hopefully he wasn't going to get blamed for this, though fat chance of that happening.
Meanwhile, Kasumi continued to smile blissfully as she planned a pleasant Sunday with Ranma that they could both enjoy.
The picnic lunch with Kasumi had been surprisingly pleasant. The entire day spent with Kasumi had been surprisingly uneventful and enjoyable. Bathtime had been a bit tense however, as Kasumi's angel Wild Orchid had popped into his bath to check on him.
Bedtime had been an experience however that had underscored the differences in the new Guardian Angel Kasumi...
