Too giddy over having a boyfriend, Minako never heard past the word 'pairing'. "I've got a guy?! Heh heh... Is he cute? What's his sign? What's he like?"
"How about I just show you what he's like, okay?"
"Show away! C'mon! Show me my stud!"
The girls that were standing near the blonde moved away slightly and gave her a wary look as they saw the manic gleam in her eye.
As she hid behind a curtain, Minako wondered what she should do. There she had been, trying out for a local talent contest when this monster with the giant claws had attacked. But now she was stuck with no way out, and could only wish that she could do something to stop it.
"What's going on here?!" a familiar voice called out.
"Ryouga," she yelled, upon spotting her boyfriend standing in one of the aisles, "Help!"
"Minako..? Why that... I'm not going to let it hurt you!"
"Ha! She'll be taken by the darkness!" the monster declared, and went after her.
"NO!" he yelled, and charged right at the creature.
Her heart went into her throat as she watched him go, looking wonderful as the daring hero. If he wasn't going after something that wanted to kill people, she would have been just proud. But he was in danger, and she didn't want him hurt.
The monster was fast, and sliced into his chest several times. "You ready to die?"
"No, I'm not!" he barked back and then he was suddenly standing there wearing a giant boar's head mask.
Both the creature and she blinked at the sight, and wondered about what had just happened.
"Rock Crusher Fist!"
"What is that?" the monster... just before the charging Razorback slammed into him with a punch. That strike sent the creature back so that it flew backwards until it slammed through a wall and lay still, obviously never to get up again.
"Ryouga!" Minako called out and ran to him.
"Umm... I... uh..," went the formerly pumped up warrior as he found his blonde girlfriend hugging him.
"You were so brave! But you're hurt!"
"It's not so bad..."
"Nonsense. Just leave it all to Nurse Minako! I'll have you right as a storm!"
"Huh?"
"I'll have everything under control. You took care of me, so it's my turn to take care of you. Sit there and I'll see about fixing you up. I'll even rip my outfit up if I have to!"
Looking over the skimpy idol outfit that she wore, a nervous chuckle came from deep in his chest.
But she didn't notice and smiled brightly as she began to work.
"I've finally got a boyfriend. I've finally got a cute boyfriend," Minako babbled to herself, a goofy grin spread across her features, "One that isn't the enemy, dating someone else, going to be an easy hostage, or wierded out by strange events. I'll love him and hug him and keep him forever and ever..."
"Minako-chan's got a boyfriend now," Usagi commented hopefully, "That's a good thing, right?"
Ami shrugged as she peered at the fading image. "I'd say so. She does seem to want to care for him... Though I do have to wonder what she's going to do with water, hydrogen peroxide, and rubbing alcohol."
"If that's what happens when you all get into a guy," Haruka joked, "I'm glad that I'm into girls."
"I am glad for your preference as well," Michiru agreed as she gazed bemusedly at her partner.
"You know," Rei idly drawled, "Setsuna never said that the two of you didn't have boyfriends of your own in this timeline."
Both of the older girls started and looked at the tanned woman.
"So..," the priestess asked, "What else is there?"
"Well," Setsuna replied, "let me just show you all:
