"Correct. The board feels it would be more prudent to simply observe for the time being. After suitable data is gathered, your request for second GF infusion will be reconsidered."
"I see." he replied with a grunt, giving the faceless lab mook a glance. "Very well. The subject is ready to begin training in the Sephiroth program, see to it all preparations are made for his transfer."
"Sephiroth? Isn't that a bit too much, Doctor? The child has only recently recovered from Fusion and our own biochemical treatments."
"Are you a doctor?"
"No.."
"Do you have a PHD?"
"Ah.. not really.."
"Are you a mad scientist with prospects of ruling the world?"
"...."
"Thought so. Don't question my evaluations, you faceless mook! Just do as you're told!" Odine snapped.
"Yes sir." the mook sighed. Some times it just didn't pay to be a faceless mook. What he wouldn't give to be the guy with the brains, or the bronze, heck what he wouldn't give to actually get the girl. It sucked being cannon fodder.
"Ah, Doctor?"
"What do you want now, Mook?"
"When did you lose your accent?" The Mook asked stupidly.
Odine blinked, then shrugged, "Never had one. Only use it to annoy the uppers."
"Ah..." Now that Mook thought about it, it did make an eerie sort of sense.

Odine sighed as the elevator doors zipped shut. They were all fools, all of them. The board, that idiot Hojo, the numerous faceless mooks. Couldn't they see what he was trying to accomplish here? Didn't they understand the power they were trying to tap into?
"Idiots." he grumbled, pushing open a secret panel in the elevator containing one button. Pressing it, he closed the panel as the elevator began to descend.
There was a far grander scheme then creating a military power base for the Shinra conglomerate. To be sure, the Alpha Unit Ranma and his GF held more importance then they were willing to let on. The explanation of happening to 'find' the boy was taken with a grain of salt. It was too convenient, too clean for his tastes. To find a boy seemingly out of the blue, injured to the point were only infusion could possibly save him from a life of a cripple, with compatibility towards the GF's was neigh impossible according to him.
Odine shook these thoughts and concerns off as the elevator chimed, the doors opening to reveal a large room packed with numerous gizmos and machines, all of which were tapped into the crystalline sphere held in stasis in the middle of the room.
Code Name: Jenova. The entity was discovered deep beneath the sea. A complete enigma to his crazed intellect. It was from within her icy prison they discovered the Guardian Forces, sealed within crystalline gems of completely different composites to the prison she was held in.
Bahamut: The King of Dragons: Fused with Alpha Unit 00 - Ranma - Found near the base of her spine.
Yojimbo: Samurai: Fused with Beta Unit 01 - Tatewaki - Found near her chest cavity.
Shiva: Ice Demoness - Unused - Found near her right thigh.
Ifirit: Fire Devil - Unused - Found near her left thigh.
There were still more to be found, Odine knew this to be true. He stepped away from the slumbering Jenova, his eyes focusing on a quarantine field set up around one of the Guardian Stones that held the Guardian Forces. The one kept here was special, and the focus of his true interest in the project.
Anima: The Dark God - Found with Bahamut - Option for Infusion sealed until future notice.
Odine tapped on a console, the field surrounding the Anima stone dropped. "I'm sorry... they denied my request." he spoke respectfully, as if the stone could hear him.
The stone seemed to shimmer, as if agitated, flashing dark lightning across it's surface before settling down.
"Undetermined mistress. He is to be observed for an indisclosed amount of time before consideration is given for a second fusion." he explained, in an apologetic tone.
The stone flashed once more.
"I understand the agreement, mistress. I will infuse you with your lover." Odine stressed, "My mother..."
The stone flashed, seemingly annoyed.
Odine gritted his teeth, "I.. understand. Infusion first, then cure my mother."
Reactiving the stasis feild around the stone, he walked away with a scowl. "More delays, more delays. Damn them." he sighed, anger washing away replaced by tiredness, "Just a little longer mother.. then I can bring you out of stasis and cure that damn disease.."
