Ranma groaned as it looked like Akane wasn't taking the situation well. The only thing that he could see that was good was that she didn't seem to be about to bash him, or get hysterical. Not that he thought that he cared or anything, but he didn't want her doing anything like that.
For her part, his fiancee got only a few meters away before she felt a tug on her skirt. Twirling around, she barked, "WHAT DO YOU THINK..." But she stopped when she realised that one of the little girls, a blonde with her hair up in funny little balls, was looking up at her. "Oh... What do you want?"
"Why are you angry lady?" the little girl asked, "Did something happen?"
"Of course something happened. That jerk brought you and the others home! He's always doing things like this!"
"He is? But he looks real sorry. And I'm sorry if I did somethin'..."
Faced with a small child getting teary eyed up at her, Akane felt oddly like a bully. "Er... it's not like that. I just don't know what he expects me to do now that he's brought all of you home."
"I know!" the tiny blonde replied and held out a hand. "I'm Usagi! You wanna be friends?"
The youngest Tendo had a sister who by simply being there, managed to make anyone feel welcome. She was kind and gentle, never speaking to anyone without a smile and a soft word. Everything was sweet, and she tended to put herself out for anyone else.
And now Akane was getting a proactive version of that right at that moment. "Um... I guess we can..."
Usagi smiled brightly and hugged the elder girl's leg. "Good! Now nobody hasta be angry!"
"Okay... But this doesn't mean my idiot of a fiance is off the hook."
"What's a 'fwe-an-say'?" asked a little girl with black hair and big violet eyes.
"That's 'fiance'," Nabiki corrected, clearly torn between bemusement and confusion. "A fiance's someone that a girl has agreed to marry."
"Are you his fiance?"
"In a girl's case, it's 'fiancee' and, I was for a little while. But Akane's supposed to marry him."
"Really?"
"Yup."
"But if someone married our Daddy..," commented a seagreen haired girl.
Another girl's emerald eyes lit up. "Then she'd be our Mommy!"
The violet eyed girl looked up at Nabiki. "Are you goin' to be our Mommy?"
"Silly..," the raven haired one commented, and pointed to Akane, "She's going to be our Mommy!"
With little girls looking expectantly at both her and her younger sister, the middle Tendo daughter gave the pigtailed boy a flat stare. "You mind explaining this Saotome?"
Rubbing the back of his head, Ranma chuckled nervously while:
