Haruka and Michiru pulled back a bit from the smile, which seemed to show a few more teeth than they remembered Setsuna's smile being usually. They glanced at each nervously and Haruka opened her mouth to reply only to be cut off by Michiru placing one finger on the blonde's lips and whispering briefly into her ear.
The senshi of Uranus' eyes widened, caution of Setsuna replaced by what could only be called a leer. Michiru stepped back quickly to avoid two encircling arms before delivering her demand with a nod of her head towards the waiting Setsuna. The rest of the Senshi were promptly treated to Haruka's best puppy-dog eyes.
Michiru wavered a moment and then steadied her resolve. "Couch," she said flatly.
Haruka's face took on the betrayed look of a puppy who doesn't understand why she's been swatted on the nose for chewing on the curtains, but she obediently turned to Setsuna. "Me first," she said warily.
"At last!" Lo Pan declared in triumph. "After thousands of years, the sacrifice of the Vampire Slayer will return me to the mortal world where I can enjoy the pleasures of the flesh with the Daughter of the Heavenly King!"
"Not a chance!" yelled Haruka from her place in this 'wedding ceremony', robed and coiffed as one of the brides. She'd die of shame if any of her racing buddies saw her dressed like this! Most of the guards were concentrating on Buffy, stood enxt to her, but the ornamental halberd at Haruka's back was also very, very sharp.
A sudden cry from the back of the underground temple drew the attention of most of the crowd of warriors at the foot of the dais as they noticed dozens of martial artists charging out of the side chambers, accompanying them a wizened old chinese man and two westerners - a vampire in black leather and a man in a wife-beater T-shirt emblazoned with the rising sun.
"Oh god!" Haruka yelped, cheeks reddening as she tried to shrink out of sight. Of all the people she didn't want to to see her in this get-up, Jack Burton had to be at the very top of the list.
The men disappeared into a swirling melee that raged across the floor of the temple and she lost sight of Jack almost immediately as the warriors on the dais crowded against each other trying to descend to the floor. The confusion gave Buffy her chance to break free and she sent one of the ornately armoured men staggering with an elbow jab. The man backed into one of Haruka's guards, forcing her to hop awkwardly aside to avoid the halberd. One foot hit the edge of the dais and she shrieked as she fell off the dais.
Fortunately, one of Lo Pan's goons softened her landing. Fortunately for Jack, that is, since he'd been about to get turned into a shish-kebab by the guy. He blinked and then accepted the good fortune. "Hey, you look kind of good in that," he told her.
"Oh shut up," she complained as he helped her stand up. "I can't move in this stupid thing."
He pulled off the tiara, uncovering her upper face. "No seriously, it suits you," he said, his face only a few inches from hers.
It was at that moment of course that a pair of brawling amrtial artists collided with Jack's back, pushing him forward against Haruka, face to face, lips to lips...
