Slayers Shadows: More Way That One To Spell The End For Yugi [Episode 94189]

by Proteus

Surrounded by his magic field card of dark sanctuary Bakura, currently under the control of the evil spirit of the millennium ring, frowned at Yami’s Egyptian god card while the oversized dragon promised a swift end to the duel. He had run out of moves thanks to the fact that Slyfier wasn’t effected by his ghost, and to top that off it was Yami’s turn. In a few seconds he would loose the duel, the millennium puzzle, and the promised millennium rod; all because he couldn’t play one blasted card. As Yami raised his hand to order his dragon to attack, Bakura looked back to his failed destiny board. I-N-A-L, that was it, if he had only drawn the F one turn sooner then he would of won.

Then, something caught the spirit of the ring’s attention about his board, something he hadn’t seen before. Yes, there was one more move he could play, it was so obvious. But… he would have to invoke the power of the shadow realm to do it, and the risks were great. Oh, not about the shadow realm, that was a walk in the park compared to the terror this would bring if it went wrong. But, if it won him this duel then he could use Slyfier to claim the other item for himself without having to hand over such a powerful card to Marik.

So, with his mind made up Bakura turned back to his opponent and smiled.

“Slyfier ATTACK HIS-”

“NOT SO FAST BOY,” Bakura shouted before drawing on the dark powers of his ring. “Before you do that there’s one last move I can make, and here it is!”

Yami frowned at his opponent as his mystic senses told him Bakura was creating a pocket shadow realm dimension around Kaiba’s blimp. “What is the meaning of this?” he demanded as he saw the possessed Bakura slowly remove his spirit message cards from his duel disk.

“Hold on a minute,” the referee said. “You are not allowed to remove magic cards from the field after they’ve been played unless you have the proper magic or trap card.”

“Oh don’t worry about that,” the possessed boy said. “Since I can’t complete one message, I’ll just re-arrange these to give me another, and since I’m not removing any cards to do so it doesn’t count as an action, and therefore I can ever do it during my opponent’s turn, right?”

“Well… yes,” the judge complied.

“And now Yugi, allow me to show you the word that will spell out your and your dragon’s DOOOM MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Yami-Bakura shouted as he started playing his cards in their new order.

“L?” Tea said as the first letter appeared on the board. “What in the heck could he be spelling that would destroy Yugi’s monster and start with an L?”

“I,” Joey said as the second letter appeared on the board.

“N,” Tristian continued as the third letter appeared. What? Was the guy ordering out for linguini or something?

“A,” Serenity finished as the creepy guy with the white hair finished his word.

“L-I-N-A,” Duke Devlin said to add in his line to the Yugi cheering gallery.

“Lina? Hey Seto, what the heck is that supposed to mean?” Mokuba asked his big brother standing beside him.

“How the hell should I know?” he told his younger sibling. Although, that name did seem to strike a cord deep within him. It was as if the letters were giving a warning to find the nearest bomb shelter and don’t come out for the next twenty years, or all of the buffets within 100 miles had closed down.

And it seemed Yami was having a reaction similar to Kaiba’s, only much more detailed. “Y-You’re insane! Do you know what you’ve just done?”

“Yes,” Bakura shouted triumphantly before throwing back his head and letting out another evil laugh while he watched the magic of the shadow realm comply with his wishes. As usual with shadow games, a portal of infinite darkness opened onto the field and brought out a creature to the summoner’s side of the field.

However, this monster wasn’t like most duel monsters with either insanely cute looks, demonic appearances, or bodies that would make supermodels cry with envy in the case of most female type humanoids. Instead, this female had long flowing red hair going down her back and… a figure of a stunted 12 year old; although the usual black cape and adventuring wizard outfit was there.

“Yes Yugi, there is no way that even your mighty Slyfier can stand up to my Lina Inverse,” Bakura shouted triumphantly.

“huh?” Lina replied in the usual confused way when she had no idea what was going on. One moment she had been heading off to cash in her latest haul of liberated bootie from the local bandits, and now she was… okay she didn’t know where she was; although with the giant serpent thingy, it didn’t look too good. “Um, would someone mind telling me what’s going on here?”

“YOU FOOL!” Yami shouted before pointing to Bakura. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done? You’ve just murdered us all! I knew you were nuts, but summoning that flat chested gluttonous witch was something I didn’t even think you would ever do! If she doesn’t kill everyone she’ll stave everyone by devouring the word’s food supply!”

“HEY! WHAT THE HECK DID YOU JUST CALL ME?” Lina shouted to the guy with lighting bolts in his hair. Although, instead of acting rashly after seeing that gigantic dragon behind him, she decided to do what she usually did in these situations. So, raising her hands to even level with her chest, Lina started chanting a spell. “Darkness beyond twilight…

“Ah crap,” Yami mumbled to himself as he saw the ‘dragon spooker’ start to build up a spell. “Hey wait a second… IT’S STILL MY TURN! SLYFIER ATTACK FLAT CHESTED BITC- I MEAN, LINA INVERSE!”

“DRAGON SLAVE!”

Just then, everyone on the sidelines got the sudden urge to run for cover.
