Marty McFly gently placed his unconscious girlfriend in the DeLorean's passenger seat. "Okay...I think I had enough of seeing this future. We did what we need to do."
Doctor Emmett Brown set the temporal coordinates before closing the door on his side. "Date's all set..." He started the car up and made sure that everyone was secured before driving out.
He quickly located a long strip of road that hardly anyone drove upon before beginning the acceleration up to 88 miles per hour. "Hey, doc? About the almanac business..."
"We'll talk about this later...we're almost at 88 miles per hour!!" There were flashes of light sparkling around the car before Marty felt the familiar sensations of travelling through time.
Things went fairly normally until all three occupants of the DeLorean felt a gigantic jolt. "What was that?!? When I went back in time, the DeLorean never did something like this!!" shouted Marty.
Doc remained focused on the wheel. "I don't know!! The time stream could be changing as of this moment and the changed events of the past could be altering the future!!"
The car jolted once more before slowing down, signalling that they had made it through in one piece. Marty looked outside the window. "Uh...doc? I don't think we're in Hill Valley..."
Dr. Brown could only think of one thing to say. "Great Scott!!"

So far, it had been a normal day (as normal as you can get with having time travel technology at your fingertips) for the Federation Timeship Relativity. However that would not be the case. "Captain. Temporal sensors are picking up some strange readings."
Captain Braxton frowned. "What type of readings?"
"It looks like a portal through time is forming but the energy emissions don't register with any of the normal temporal transporter signatures in our database," answered the ensign.
"When and where is the portal forming?"
