"Going somewhere?" asked Ranma, holding her Time Key Staff in one hand and smirking at her.
Pluto ran down a street, along an alleyway and found a dead end cul-de-sac where she could catch her breath.
"Was this trip really necessary?"
"EEEEEEEEEK!"
Sailor Pluto ran. Yet everywhere she went, Ranma showed up immediately thereafter.
With powers like superspeed and flight, it was easy for him. Keeping a grip on the Time Key Staff was tricky, but if he set it down she'd be able to summon it and escape across the time stream.
Let's see. It had been a thousand years or so, but he thought he could remember that it should be happening about... now.
Sailor Pluto ran away from the maddening incarnation of all that was wrong with the timestream and realized that there was a crowd here. She noticed some of the members of the crowd and began getting even more agitated.
"It's not required I wear one of those penguin suits, it's not required I throw flowers, so I ain't gonna do it. No way, Kagome."
"But it looks so cool," said the Japanese schoolgirl to her dog-eared companion.
Sailor Pluto tore her eyes from that couple to the next.
"Gourry might look good in a tux, but I'd rather he pull out the Sword Of Light in a fight," said a short redhead with a petite figure. Her blonde companion nodded as if he understood.
"Mister Zelgadis!"
"No, Amelia. Not a chance."
"A black tuxedo? That might work," said a man in a black suit.
His nearly emotionless companion gave him a flat look. "For you, or for Big O?"
"Right, I'll look into it," said Mihoshi, running around making notes.
"Wow! So many new friends! I never realized a Senshi recruitment drive would be so much fun!" declared Sailor Moon.
"Urk!" said Sailor Pluto. Everywhere she looked - people who WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE!
The crowd silently closed behind her, cutting off escape.
Young ten-year-old Ranma gasped as he saw himself. Older and FLYING!
"Washu, when you find that hunk of glowing rock?" Older Ranma indicated himself and winked. "Now, if I recall correctly, this is when I left. Everybody gets mad at me if I cause a paradox and the longer I stay..."
"So this is the future?" Kaoru asked as the boy handed the staff to her and flew off.
"Unexpected, this certainly is," said a samurai with a cross shaped scar on one cheek as he looked over the parks and buildings.
"I dunno, I kinda like it," said their companion whose jacket bore a sinister kanji.
"It IS the future, or at least A future," announced Washu.
"Nononononono. You can't be here, you can't be in this world," sobbed Pluto. "The future must be pure. It can't be changed or diluted. It can't. It can't."
Ryoko walked up, looked at the girl who had caused all this, and a disgusted look passed over her face. She simply drew one fist back and slammed it as hard as she could into the Time Senshi's stomach. Pluto folded.
"Pluto!" cried Sailor Moon, rushing forward. "How could you?"
"She's asleep now," said Ryoko. "Let her get over this and see how much she remembers in the morning."
"She's not nearly so bad. Most of the time," said a voice overhead.
"I was wondering when I would show up," said Ryoko, looking at her future self and seeing the Sailor costume. Then glancing at Tenchi who seemed ready to faint with a nosebleed looking at her future self. Ryoko vowed immediately that she was getting one of those costumes!
"I don't know that I could show up that often, I have to fight evil in my own land," said Honey regretfully.
"It ain't like that," said future Ryoko. "We got enough people that an operative team of five can be ready to respond at any particular time while the rest of us are out living our lives or doing missions like helping you beat the high heck out of Panther Zora's goons."
Honey smiled brightly at that image. "Then sign me up!"
At their feet the unconscious Sailor Pluto groaned as if having a nightmare.
