Text-Based 1/2-Yu-Gi-Oh: Mediocre Cards = Limited Options [Episode 94558]

by Yasanagi

Note that Deepsea Shark is a Fusion monster. So you can't use it unless you have Bottom Dweller and Tongyo on the field and a Polymerization magic card in your hand.

Crud. In that case, I will discard Marie the Fallen One and Deepsea Shark. Man...I need some better cards.

Well, maybe you should have went through your deck before rushing into a duel. What will you do now?

For now, I'll summon the Feral Imp in face-down defense mode and end my turn.

A face down card turned sideways appears in front of you. You announce that your turn is over.

Shinji draws a card from his deck. "I'll sacrifice my Birdface to summon the Swamp Battleguard in attack mode!!" His bird monster disappears and is replaced by an ogre with a club.

The Swamp Battleguard is a level 5 Warrior, Earth monster. Has an attack power of 1800 and a defense power of 1500. His special ability is that his attack power goes up by 500 points for each "Lava Battleguard" on Shinji's side of the field. Since there are none, his attack power stays at 1800.

You draw your next card which turns out to be a monster card. It's a Great White, a level 4 Fish, Water monster with an attack power of 1600 and a defense power of 800. You also gain 200 life points because of Marie's special ability. As long as she is in the graveyard, you get 200 life points at the beginning of each of your turns. So now your life points are back at 4000.

That's good. I think I have an idea. Say: "First, I'll summon Great White in attack mode."

You play the card and a shark appears on the field which also had a pair of human arms.

Say: "Next, I'll use my magic card Block Attack to force your monster to go into defense mode!" Play the card.

Shinji then presses a button and one of his face down cards springs up. "Not so fast! I'll activate my Magic Jammer trap card and discard a card from my hand to negate your magic card!!"

Damn! Nothing to do now so I end my turn.

Shinji draws his next card. "I'll summon the Masked Sorcerer to the field!!"

Care to fill me in on this card?

It's a level 4 Spellcaster, Dark monster. Attack power is 900 and defense power is 1400. If it deals direct damage to your life points, Shinji can draw one card from his deck.

"I'll order my Swamp Battleguard to destroy the Great White!!" The ogre swings his club and your monster is gone. Your life points go down to 3800.

"Now I order my Masked Sorcerer to attack your life points directly!!" One spectacular attack sequence later, your life points go down to 2900 and Shinji draws a card.

"I place another card face down and end my turn!"

Your life points go back up to 3100 due to Marie's effect. You are about to draw your card when Shinji activates the face down card he just played. "I'll force you to skip drawing a card this turn by using my Time Seal trap card!"

Okay, you prick. It's time to get serious. Say: "I'll summon Thunder Nyan Nyan in attack mode!!"

The catgirl appears with a large drum and a pair of drumsticks. One drumstick is in each hand.

Order my sexy beast to destroy the Swamp Battleguard.

How sad that you're drooling over a Duel Monster card. Anyways, you give the order for your monster to attack. Shinji activates his face down card, called Rush Recklessly to power up his monster's attack points by 700.

Activate Reverse Trap.

Thanks to your trap card, Shinji's Swamp Battleguard loses 700 attack points, going down to 1100. Your monster bashes her drum and fires a lightning bolt to destroy the Swamp Battleguard. Shinji's life points go down to 3100. Looks like the score is even but Shinji may be able to tip things in his favour if he has good cards.

Nothing else to do so I end my turn.

Shinji draws his card and looks over his hand.
