The Princess of Blades: Cue Sinister Music [Episode 95078]

by Malhavoc431

As Sailor Pluto, Senshi of Time, and Keeper of the Gates of Time, Setsuna had seen a great many things in her life. She had witnessed the rise and fall of entire civilizations during her vigil. That equates to freakin' loads of experience. Experience that prepares one for the unexpected and allows for one to be able to maintain their cool under all but the most bizzare or dire of situations.

"SON OF A BITCH!"

This was one such moment.

*WHAM* *WHAM* *WHAM* *WHAM*

"Damn you Kami-sama why me?!" Setsuna cried to the heavens. "Of all the things that could possibly fuck my day up it had to be THEM?!" she wailed as she slammed her head into the Time Gates before settling on leaning against them, shoulders slumped.

While Setsuna may have spent most of her life watching over the timelines here on Earth that didn't mean she was ignorant concerning the neighbors of our little blue planet. She was in fact quite well informed on that count. She knew of the existence of many races such as the Jurai, the Kyrn, and the Salusians. She had even learned somethings about the ancient Protoss... and the Zerg.

The Zerg. The very mentioning of these monsters has made grown men soil themselves like scared toddlers. They were supposedly extinct after the Great War.

"And now they've come here," Setsuna thought bitterly. She abruptly stood from her leaning position and opened the Time Gates.

"Maybe I can find the divergence and avoid this altogether," she muttered. She knew this was technically not allowed but she'd be damned if she let the Zerg sink their infested claws into this world.

To her dismay it wasn't a temporal divergence but a trans-space dimensional fluctuation. No wonder she never saw there coming. They were coming from another dimension. What are the odds? She witnessed the wormhole opening and that, thing slink out of it. She nearly started crying at the unfairness of it all. She could control the fabric of time but this time space had conspired against her. Then as quickly as it had formed the wormhole closed leaving the lone Zerg stranded on one side.

"HELL FREAKIN' YEAH!!!" was the cry that echoed through Time Gate's chambers.

As it was earlier noted Setsuna was no stranger to how alien races worked so it was known to her that without contact from the main Hive this lone Zerg wouldn't pose a threat. Hell it wasn't even worth mentioning as it would simply mill about like an insect until it died.

After she ceased her dancing, Setsuna closed the Time Gates so she could go celebrate her good fortune at the nearest bar. If she had paused in her jubilation long enough she would have seen how wrong her assumptions were.

The Mind Seeker stirred and stretched, blinking its eyes to adjust to the new light. It was then it noticed something different in its semi-self-aware little mind. It couldn't hear the Overmind's commands. The Mind Seeker did the best shrug it could manage and moved forward with the last known orders of the Overmind. Find and infest suitable hosts. It lazily made its way towards Earth focusing on the place that exuded the most psionic energy, Japan. Specifically Tokyo. Although semi-intelligent the Mind Seeker had no idea that without contact to the Overmind the newest children of the Zerg would hold no loyalty to the Overmind. Their will would be their own. IT found suitable targets soon enough. They appeared to be battling an energy leech of sorts. It didn't matter to the Mind Seeker, it would fulfill the last known command of the Overmind. After all... It lived for the Swarm.
