Washu cleared her throat and addressed the throng in her living room. "After going back over the sensor records, I was able to determine what happened. Some sort of dimensional disturbance has caused what could best be described as a paradimensional crossrip."

"Sounds like something out of that human film, what was it? Oh yes, 'Ghostbusters'," Ayeka offered.

"General ballpark, kind of sort of," said Washu. "Ryoko - stop making faces at Ayeka. Now what's happened is sort of a multidimensional musical chairs. One ripple has gone through and one individual has passed from one universe and ended up in another. In each universe, the number of people has remained the same because each time someone is moved in - that person displaces a native who is then bumped to the next universe."

"So Mihoshi's alive but in another universe," summed up Kiyone.

"Exactly. Benten here is an alien from a universe with a Nine Gods race and an Oni race, and she's friends with an Oni named Princess Lum who came to Earth and..."

"That sounds like Urusei Yatsura," said Sasami.

Washu blinked as Sasami excused herself and came back with a manga a few minutes later. On seeing the names she began blinking again. "Uhm. Right. This may be important. Anyway, the danger is that even with people displaced, the situation isn't stable. There may be other ripples in which case there will be more people displaced."

Millie wondered where she was. This was not the planet Gunsmoke. There was no sign of her partner, nor of Vash the Stampede.

"Oh wow. A really tall alien!" Dita gushed.

"I was looking," said Meia. "She was standing right there. Then she was gone and this other person was there."

"Uh oh," said Jura. "This could be a problem."

"It has to be the End Of The World," said the pudgy little burro with a depressed air. "Sad but predictable. Oh well."

This was not the Thousand Acre Wood. There was no sign of Pooh or Piglet or Rabbit or Owl nor even of the infrequent visitor Christopher Robin.

"All alone again, naturally," signed Eeyore. "Hmmm. There may be a song in that."

"Minsc and Boo stand ready," announced the big but simpleminded berserker Rasheman Ranger. The hamster sticking his head out of a pocket squeaked as if to second the motion.

"Now if Minsc and Boo just knew where they were things would be a lot nicer and we could get back to butt-kicking for Goodness."

"So in order to fix this, I'm going to need to build a machine that will put everyone back into their proper timelines." Washu was already typing on her "laptop" as she continued her explanation. "In order to do that, I'll have to trace the various paths and identify who is from where and where they are now."

"That sounds complicated," said Ryoko thoughtfully. "C'mere Benten, I know this 24 hour liquor store in Okayama."

"I just hope Mihoshi is adapting as well as our guest," said Washu. A trill from her computer sent her a warning. "Oh no! It's- Haruka Ten'ou, aka Sailor Uranus was still in the Tomobiki of Urusei Yatsura Rei Ayanami was in the Cat Cafe in the Nerima of Ranma 1/2. Amelia from Slayers was with the Sailor Senshi of Sailor Moon Mihoshi was wandering around Terminal Dogma with a bunch of Rei clones that had different personalities.
