Had Setsuna had more time to look, she would have noticed that the person she was bout to get was extremely qualified for the job of hero,
just not for the reason she had decided to chose between them.
Blue Zar El-Lazel (SaGa Frontier) was very damn good with a gun and had mastered several gun techniques.
He was, however, the last Mage of the Magic Kingdom and capable of killing anything that could be killed with magic, singlehanded.
Plus his mastery of Time and Space magics ment that his lover, the Lady Asellus, would join him.
That would really surprise Setsuna.
Rooks (Arcana) was good with a sword and the Giant Sword was a factor in his defeat of the goddess Rimsala.
His status as the last of the Card Masters and his use of the four elemental Spirit Cards was just as important.
The big question there would be if the Senshi would attack some of the spirits as Youma.
The drunk Gen Watanabe(SaGa Frontier) was put in the choices because he could cut a rope with an iron pipe and the robot he was following could be useful.
Gen actually was a swordsman from Wakatu and had the skill to cut rope with an iron pipe. In 'her' current type 8 body T260G was very useful.
So Setsuna got one right.
Ryu the ryuzoku prince (Breath of Fire 3) was a powerful enough healer that he and his companions were able to defeat elder Jono.
He was also a ryuzoku, and he now had the power that one goddess feared was enough to destroy the world. He'd probably get along famously with Hotaru but that was beside the point.
Would the Outers try to kill him upon seeing his altered states?
