So he trundled down the slope, trying to get used to his new form enough that he could get there without hurting himself. That wouldn't be good at all, and he wasn't one to risk such things. Going as fast as he could safely was all that he could do, but that wasn't quick enough. He was excited, and was hoping that help would be so close after what he had just been through.
It didn't even matter that he didn't have the grace and skill that even his old body had at the moment.
Cologne came out of her home and scowled at the sound of the alarm bell being rung. All around her, her fellow Amazons were rushing past, the warriors heading in one direction while the others headed in another.
Waving her staff at one, she made sure to keep her great-grandaughter close as she asked. "What is all this fuss? What's happening?"
"One of the guards spotted a monster heading down the mountainside towards the village!" the younger woman replied.
"A monster? Has there been someone dipping into the liquor to pass the time again?"
"No! As soon as it was spotted, the one who saw it called for others, and they confirmed that the creature is heading this way."
"Damn... How bad is it?"
The other Amazon gave a grim smile. "Enough to have Elder Lilac concerned."
"That's not good. Tell them I'm on my way, and to set up a perimiter until I get there."
"As you wish!"
Shampoo watched her fellow warrior go, before frowning at her great-grandmother. "We're going to go fight it?"
"If that's what is called for. I hope that all we'll have to do is to run it off."
"You don't sound sure of that."
"That would be too fortunate."
"Hey, maybe it will be a civilised monster and we'll be able to talk to it," the lavander haired girl joked.
"Somehow, I doubt that."
"Well then, I'll just have to get my bonbori, now won't I?"
"I suppose so," the Elder agreed. "But I fear this might not be it all..."
"Hmm?"
"Just a feeling that something bad is going on."
"'Bad'?"
"I can't say more than that," Cologne muttered, "But I know that we may have more trouble down the line. However, now is not the time for pondering that."
"It's the time for monster bashing, right?"
"Something like that."
"Then let's go show this thing that Amazon women aren't pushovers," Shampoo commented.
"Ahh... the energy of youth. Let's go child, and see what must be done.
Dutifully, Shampoo followed her great-grandmother as she headed to where the monster was coming while:
