So she merely attempted to focus in on healing the comatose redhead as quickly and entirely as she could.
That resulted in a deep purple glow growing around her and heading to Asuka's still body in pulses. It bathed the younger girl's body in light, so that it seemed to be pouring into her flesh. The brightness of it became more and more intense as it went by, soon getting so bright that it became hard to look at.
And then in an especially strong burst, it stopped, and Misato had to stumble to keep her footing.
But it left Asuka still lying on the floor.
Ranma peered at the girl. "It didn't work?"
"I guess not," Misato said in a defeated tone of voice. "I'm sorry, but it doesn't look like I can do it."
"Hey, it was worth a shot, right?"
"I suppose so..."
"Thank you for trying anyway Misato," Shinji told her, "At least you did that much. I couldn't do anything... Maybe she can still get care better than being stuck there with someone who can't do much. It was the only reason I came to them after all..."
"... idiot..," came a quiet mutter from the floor.
"HUH?!"
"You think I can just wake up in peace, but no..."
"Asuka! You're awake!"
The redhead merely stared at him. "That's kind of obvious isn't it?"
"But you didn't seem to react..," Ranma put in as he knelt to help her sit up.
"That's because it took a bit for me to realise that I was back to normal... Damn, even now I can barely move..."
"That's because you haven't been moving your muscles for a while. They probably stiffened up on you."
"At least you know something. Shinji here couldn't realise one simple thing..."
"What's that?" Shinji asked.
Asuka kept her eyes steady as she looked at his eyes. "I remember it all, including the stuff you did and didn't do. Everything that happened, I remember."
"Oh..."
"Yeah, and we're going to need to have a long talk about that..."
Kneeling by the revived girl, Kasumi smiled gently. "Is there anything you need?"
"Something to drink would be nice," the redhead replied, "My mouth is dried out badly..."
Leaping to move, Shinji declared, "I'll get it!"
"Idiot..."
Nabiki smirked. "At least things are working out so far."
"But for how long," Akane muttered while:
