But they were on a lifeboat that was leaving at about the same time, and his luck was acting up again.
So, as he straightened up, he twisted to see who was there and got a rather big shock.
It wasn't that there were other people in the craft with him that was the problem. In fact, he was happy that there were people were getting off the failing spelljammer. If there had been anyone else left on board that he could have seen on his way to the lifeboat, he would have scooped them up to go as well.
What the problem was happened to be who was on the ship with him.
The catgirl from earlier perked up as she saw him as the elfmaids behind her peered over her shoulder to get a better look.
"Erk!" he went as he realised what sort of situation he was in.
"This is wonderful!" the Kirrfolk cheered. "Now we'll have a chance to talk about your people!"
"I would have thought it better that we could talk about him," commented one of the elfmaids.
"That would have been part of it."
"The best part most likely."
"And we'll have plenty of time to talk, and perhaps do other things..," another elf murmured.
"Yeah!" said the catgirl as she leaned in hopefully. "Where should we start?"
Ranma fairly plastered himself against the side of the lifeboat as he tried to get as far away from her as he could. It was a small space, but that was all that he could do at the moment, while:
