If up against Happosai, she had some pity for him, and would stop far short of the full out measure of her Art - as would he. Humiliate, punish, hurt severely - yes. Happosai wasn't a cold blooded killer though.
It didn't take much to determine that Wiseman, a Dark Genie, was a killer. Evil, capital e. That this would also prove to the young kids why she should stick around as a sensei was besides the point. The children simply weren't up for this battle and it was time for an older (older older older) hand to take control.
Martial Arts, like armies, have two main functions. 1: keeping you alive. 2: killing people and breaking things. Martial Arts could be, and often was, used to defeat instead of kill - but if you got down to the basic origins - it was there.
Yvette's personality was sufficiently surprised that Genma was able to see, and was impressed. He hadn't seen anything like this since that rogue bear had found its way into that playground. On seeing children about to die a bloody death, the Master had moved like this.
Ranma and the genies just stared.
Lightning hit an after-image as Cologne became this hyperactive little blur zipping in and out of attack positions, her staff jabbing out to hit point first at the dark genie.
Cologne knew that this being had flesh. There was some victim, corrupted to be sure, under that skeletal visage. She could feel the ki. Unless one were a true master of the martial arts, their pressure points could be manipulated.
Lightning became black crescents and darts of energy as the Dark Genie attempted to crush this insignificant insect.
"Splitting Cat Hairs," announced Cologne, her image doubling and doubling and doubling again so that eight images of Cologne spun about the Dark Genie.
"This cannot fool one such as myself," growled Wiseman. "I call upon the genie whose Ring I bear. Jupiter Oak Evolution!"
Cologne dodged out, then came in faster than ever and glowing with chi. "Amazonian Wu Shu Final Attack. Bat Outta Hell."
