Blood Inheritance: A Natrual Nermian Morning [Episode 99489]

by Proteus

Running down the street as quickly as he could while putting on his jacket and with a piece of toast hanging from his mouth, Ranma Yagami cursed himself so sleeping in so late before getting his other hand of the left sleeve of his crescent moon jacket and leaping to the top of the fence and then to a nearby rooftop. Personally, Ranma didn’t know if his father had picked a house on the other side of the district than the school out of some cruel sense of humor, or out of some idea to make Ranma improve his speed. He knew it couldn’t of been for the cost of the place. Although Iori seldom had need for it, the Yagami clan held a considerable amount of money, and their stock portfolio was nothing to sneeze at either. But despite the fact that Iori could easily afford a house big enough for a family of seven or more, Ranma had found him and his father recently living in an unfurnished two bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and one bathroom.

Jumping off the fifth roof and onto a public bus heading down the street in the right direction, Ranma just settled that the distance was intended to be like some kind of obstacle course. After all, it would fit with the basic idea behind all of the training exercises his father had put him through, if much less harsh. As the bus started to come to a stop underneath him, Ranma ran atop the bus then jumped across the intersection and onto the sidewalk before taking off again and catching another freed ride since the sidewalks were much too crowded to go anywhere near his full speed. It was on a car this time, so after a careful landing he quickly dispersed his weight as not to cause an indentation as people tended to stop and demand that he get the hell off their car.

As the car finally came to the place Ranma needed to get off at he lunged to one side and pushed himself into the air and to the sidewalk before quickly dusting himself off and removed the satchel that had been strapped to his back. A brief glance at his watch had told him that he had arrived a bit earlier than he ha originally anticipated and had five minutes to spare. At least he wouldn’t need to just jump to his class’s window, while Ranma did have a guilty pleasure of showing off, the crowds of students that usually gathered afterwards was something he tended to dislike.

So, without wasting much more time, except to notice that it might start raining soon, Ranma turned into the front yard of the high school-

“I HATE BOYS!”

-and blinked a few times at the scene he saw in front of him.

In the school yard in front of him a mob of boys dressed in equipment or outfits for pretty much every teenage sport out there were attacking in mass against a lone girl that could have been about Ranma’s own age, and they were loosing… badly. For a moment Ranma wondered if he should just head on up to his class… but then smirked and shook his head. As if reading some boring book could be as interesting as a fight, he thought to himself before jumping back into the top of the wall to get a better view of the show. Besides, at the rate the girl was going he would probably end up watching her and still having to go to class.

Two minutes later, when the girl had finally downed the last opponent, Ranma was thinking that he really should have just gone on to class. When it he had first glanced at the girl the fact that she was holding back was obvious, so the actual level of her strength couldn’t be determined in this fight, but if her skills were any indication then the hopes of picking anything up or having some fun at this place were quickly shot down.

Although she was well above the level of a normal person for her age, it wasn’t anything to call home about in Ranma’s opinion. From what Ranma could tell she seemed to had at least dabbled in a few styles, although Kempo was either the one she had finally settled on, or got taught the most of and thus automatically reacted with. But even watching her from across the yard Ranma had been able to see plenty of gaping holes in her defenses, especially when she was on the offensive.

Then, after seeing the girl standing around for about half a minute and looking around the schoolyard for something, which was most likely the boy standing behind a tree to her left. However, considering the skill level the girl was at, Ranma had no interest in sticking around neither a slaughter, or an even match with people of their level.

So dropping down from the wall, Ranma started to make his way inside before what would soon be a thunderstorm started coming down on him. Not that drying off was much a problem for a Yagami.

“Okay Kuno come out! I know you’re not sick today!” the girl shouted out loud while looking around angrily.

Meanwhile at the front of the school building the girl, Akane Tendo, looked back and forth for that idiot who had caused this whole mess. Akane really didn’t need Kuno taking his sweet time this morning, and if he was going to do some lame new entrance then she really should just walk on inside. It would be nice to barely avoid getting a tardy slip for a change.

But of course that idea was thrown out a second later. Akane was the heir to the Anything goes School of Martial Arts, and that meant that she couldn’t refuse any challenge. Even if it does come from a complete nutcase, Akane told herself before letting out a sigh.

Then, right on cue, Akane saw some movement out of the corner of her eye and Kuno stepped out from behind a tree to her left a second later, clothed in his usual dark blue kendo outfit and with a bouquet of roses in his hand. For a moment he just stood there as that ninja of his dropped some cheery blossoms from his position in an overhead branch. “Oh, although the fierce tigress doth call to her samurai, and he wishes to respond, she had yet to defeat her last of the boorish horde that keeps him from her,” Kuno said before he directed to the center of the school yard with his wooden sword where a red-haired boy in a non-uniform jacket with a confused look on his face.
