A Ranma in Aramar: Story Telling [Episode 99848]

by Kender

Sighing heavily, Ranma tried to figure out a way to get out of his current difficulty. As it was he knew that he'd made a mistake with girls yet again, and as such, he was going to be in for a long ride. He wished he knew how to keep his foot out of his mouth in such situations, but as he had little understanding of females, he didn't know why certain things set them off. At least in this instance, he had some idea, but that was small consolation, as he knew that he'd already screwed up at that point.

Deciding that she couldn't get things much worse for herself, she shrugged. "I guess I just thought that ya would be like most folks where I come from."

"Oh?" asked the redhaired one. "Why is that?"

"'Cause it always worked before. I mean, most of 'em ain't able to sense auras or stuff like that. So, this worked good enough as a disguise."

"I see..."

"But how did you get it?" asked the wizardess.

"Ya see, my Pop took me on this trainin' trip when I was real little, and we were on the road for ten years of gettin' ta learn all I could. At 'bout the end of it, the jerk up and decides that he wants us ta go ta a special trainin' ground. 'Cept he couldn't read the info about it, so when I kicked him into the water of a pool, up came a panda. I was so freaked that he got in a good swipe, and I fell into another pool, and came out like this. Only later did we find out that each pool had somethin' drown in it, and whoever fell into that pool later winds up turnin' into somethin' on the lines of what drowned there."

"What turns you back then?"

"Hot water," the pigtailed girl replied, "And cold turns me inta a girl."

"Fascinating..."

"Not for me it ain't! Imagine bein' a guy all your life and turnin' inta a girl 'cause some splashes ya. Not fun at all, even if it came in handy sometimes. And that sorta thing kept on happenin'."

"How so?" asked the green eyed elf.

"Simple. After goin' on that trainin' journey, of which that stupid trip to the pools was the latest in idiotic trainin' techniques, some of which were banned before he was born, my Pop takes me over to his friend's place. This guy had three daughters, and the two old men had decided that I was gonna marry one of 'em. Except that they picked the youngest, who was a big tomboy, and things sorta went down hill from there."

"'Down hill'?" asked the blonde with the loops in her hair.

"I had a girl follow me from her mountain village to kill me for bein' an outsider woman who'd beat her, only when she found out that I was a guy, it changed so that she said we were married. Then there was my old buddy from when I was little who I thought was a boy then, but turned out to be a girl who was also engaged to me. Oh, can't forget the wannabe samurai, who wanted ta date my girl side and hated my guy side, and his sister who wanted ta hurt my girl side and wanted ta date my guy side. And the rivals, includin' a guy who was mad at me 'cause he couldn't get to the challenge place on time and wound up followin' me ta the place where he got cursed, and the nearly blind guy who thought attackin' me would get the girl who he wanted ta be free for him."

"That's..."

"Ya can't leave out the old pervert who made a fightin' style around stealin' underwear, the old ghoul who taught me a lot of techniques 'cause she wanted me to be with her great-grandaughter, and the mother who I couldn't see 'cause my Pop made a stupid promise that we would kill ourselves if I wasn't a 'man among men'. Along with the other insanity, like a headmaster who thought freaky rules were good, a teacher who's a little kid until she sucked out battle aura, and lots of folks like that."

"So... how did you wind up here?" the blonde with the long straight hair asked.

"I got a lamp with a genie and my fiancee wished that she'd never see me again, and so, here I am," Ranma groused and crossed her arms over her chest. "Lucky me."

"Why should we believe you?" the one with the red hair asked, sparing a glance at the catgirl as she scribbled madly.

"Dunno. I just told ya so that I could. 'Sides, if I explained it all, I'd take a real long time."

The elfmaids glanced at each other and:
