He watched Ranma sneak through the village, and was glad that his son was taking this challenge seriously for once in his life... perhaps he would be finally ready to face adult responsibilities when he learned a bit about humility in this run. Ranma's technique was almost flawless, but Genma knew that it was just a matter of time before his aura was detected.
Making use of the time he still had before the fight finally erupted, he calmly walked to a house near Ranma's target, and went through the window without making any noise, entering the bedroom of one happy couple who slept peacefully, smiling and snuggled against each other. This display of love caused a pang of guilt to strike Genma's heart.
Sadly shaking his head, he proceeded to leave the couple his gift at a nearby table, hoping that it would be enough to compensate for the mess they were going to cause. He got from his gi one of his trophies, a handful of ancient gold coins, and also placed a small wooden sign with an apology written in ragtag chinese.
He turned around, and prepared to leave...
"/Well, that's certainly a first time I've seen a thief giving gold instead of taking it away./"
... when he heard an impossibly old voice coming from outside. When he glanced at the window, he saw something that chilled his blood.
"/There it goes again. I'm not THAT ugly, am I?/" joked a very small and wrinkled old woman, perched at the window. "/I must admit that your technique is very impressive, young man, of a complexity worthy of an Amazon, but it seems that it's useless if you don't control your emotions./"
It's not him, thought Genma, calming down. He couldn't have returned yet. Specially not disguised as a female version of himself at a small village in the middle of China.
"/See? Now you're doing it right, I can't sense you. Still, you must know that I'm guarding the only window of the house, and that I would detect you immediately if you tried to use the door. Why don't you come out of hiding, and start explaining why did you sneak into the village?/"
"/GET THE INTRUDER!/" They both could clearly hear.
Using the (expected) distraction, Genma quickly changed his focus from the Umisenken to the Yamasenken.
"/I very sorry./ Kijin Raishü Dan!" He shot a vacuum blade upwards, and jumped through the roof's new hole.
"/STOP!/" Yelled the old woman as she went after him.
