Ranma starts his day [Episode 1]

Ranma woke up slowly, as always, for sleep was one of his favorite things in the world, and he begrudged its end.

In other words, he was starting to get just as lazy as his father.

He lay with his eyes closed for a while, trying to hold on to his dream. It had been something about... a girl... or something... He grunted, frustratedly, when he realized he had already forgotten all but the most vague impression of it. It had been pleasantly warm and fuzzy, but he had no idea what it had been about anymore.

Grudgingly he opened his eyes and took stock of the situation.

• Akane was standing over him with a bucket in her hand. "Oh, you've decided to wake up on your own, for a change?" she said with a grin.
• Ack! Shampoo was in his bed, almost naked and virtually wrapped around his body!
• For some reason Ranma was female. Strange, she could have sworn that she went to bed male.
• Genma strode into the room. "Get up, Boy! We have a lot to do, today."
  Oyaji got up early? Ranma thought. Wow, talk about unusual.
• Kasumi poked her head in. "Ranma-kun? Don't you want to eat breakfast and get ready? Surely you don't want to miss the big day at school."
  Big day? Damn, had he forgotten something?
• When he realized what was going on, he jerked upright instantly.
