Setsuna blinked at her future self, her concentration on her headache totally forgotten. "How is that possible?" she asked in a small voice.
Her future self gave her a blazingly triumphant smile. "Our leader," she began in a melodic chortle, "discovered moss."
Twisting slightly to let the sunlamp warm her face, the planted dryad inquired, "So what?"
Future-Setsuna sighed. "That's what I thought," she admitted in aslightly more somber voice. "She was interested in the possibility of a gradual terraforming of the planets, so she had delivered some bioengineered moss to each of the planets. Each seeding took well to it's environment; in a few places, extremely so."
Present-Setsuna whistled. "I begin to see," she responded after a long moment. "Once there was a less volatile ecosystem..."
The fuku-clad woman nodded. "Right," she vocalized. "She shipped in a few hundred plants, some animals and about fifty Oriad Dryad settlers to each. After about another two years, the sites were stable enough for the non-Dryad people to arrive."
"And?" the currently woody Mistress of Time prompted, her eyes brightening.
Her future self answered her:
