Wild Zoids: The Begining [Episode 100823]

by Earthchild

It was raining hard. So hard that it was sometimes difficult to see the zoid in front of your own. Few people were out on a day like this, most opting to stay in doors. Out of this sheets of rain came a Gustave pulling a couple of trailers with two covered zoids.

The transport wasn't given a second glance. After all plenty of Zoids warriors and their zoids passed through Nerima. Though many did feel a change in the air. Something was going to change in the area, they just knew it.

'The battles around here are going to get interesting' ran through more than one mind as the machines disappear into the rain.

The Tendo manor, a large stately house, sat peacefully in the outskirts of Nerima. A hanger/repair dock loomed over the house with the bold, faded inscription "Wreaking Crew". The peace was shattered when the house shook as three voices shouted "WHAT???"

Inside Soun Tendo nodded enthusiastically, seemingly not noticing the shocked looked on his daughter's faces. "That's right. Their father is an old friend of mine. For the past 10 years he and his children have been on a training trip to master Zoid combat, kind of like a warriors journey. Now that I've hired them I'm sure we can go up in the rankings."

"How good of a pilot are they father," asked Kasumi, "and what kind of Zoids do they own." She was really hoping this move would help them get out of the slump they were in.

"So they went on a warriors journey. Big deal. Don't we get any say in this? For all we know they could be total novices," snorted Akane, "and perverts." She had a few issues with boys, thanks to a certain Kuno.

Soun laughed as he looked out into the rain. "I don't know."

Silence descended on the room.

"You don't know," deadpanned Nabiki.

"I never met them."

"Oh father," sighed Kasumi. Akane just glared.

"How much did this cost us, daddy? You just signed a contract with Xian Pu 3 months ago AND hired Ukyo Kuonji as an extra mechanic/cook a few weeks ago and now you are bringing in two more pilots? How are we going to pay for all this? Unless something drastic happens we are going to have let someone go. We can't afford anymore expenditures like this," pointed out Nabiki. "And may I remind you that I am not going to be able to battle since my Zoid are STILL unrepaired, since you spent the last prize money DRINKING. And now you add to our expenses by HIRING MORE people," she finished with a glare.

Soun stared bawling about how his daughters hated him. The girls just hung their heads in frustration.

Loud knocking at their door interrupted them.

Not much later the Tendos were once more kneeling on one side of the room. On the other side sat a portly man, a boy and a girl with their hair in pigtails.

The reunion between the two men had been heartfelt, with the two enthusiastically slapping each other on the back and briefly reminiscing about the past.

"Let me introduced you daughters, Kasumi, Nabiki and Akane," started Soun pointing to each girl. "This, girls, is my good friend..."

"Genma Saotome. This is my daughter, Ranko," indicating the girl, "and her twin, Ranma," waving to the boy.
