Most news channels interpreted the storm over the pacific and the Tsunamis that had destroyed so much as the aftereffect of a direct Zentraedi attack on the SDF-1 Macross and Macross Island. That resulted in an even higher boost of morale.
Most parts of the industry on Earth and the colonies started to change towards war production and the resource output from the mining colonies in the asteroid belt grew in less than twelve hours. The workers in the big earth side docks, where Olympus-corvettes, Hyperion-cruisers and Nova-dreadnoughts were produced, started to work overtime, nearly doubling the production capacity. The production docks on the moon also started to produce faster and the next three SDF-class ships would leave dock in under a month after the first assault, while the next three ships were in production.
Meanwhile EarthForce started to make more plans and equipped the colonies with more ground troops, mostly heavy mechanized infantry with BMCP and heavy infantry with PAA.
Both of these new weapons systems had been developed during the regression after 2004. The PAA, Powered Assault Armor had been developed after a DARPA-project and the first PAA had really been the virtual copy of the SAMAS-powerarmor from Paladiums Rifts, but today the PAA was sleeker and equiped with the Shadow-derivated armor. The BMCP, Biped Mechaized Combat Platform, had likewise been deveolped by some people who liked RPG's and things like that. In this case they had designed most of their designes after the Battlemechs from Battletech, trough they only had been able to perfect the BMCP's after the development of the 'thinking cap' from Professor Lang.
Likewise the Fleet slowly moved. The 200 of the 820 EarthForce ships started to slowly follow the Zentraedi fleet, just outside their confirmed sensory perimeter. The rest of the ships were prepared to either defend earth or the colonies.
The fleet of EarthForce consisted of 500 Olympus class corvettes, 150 Hyperion class heavy cruisers, 70 Nova class dreadnoughts and Nova-X class battle cruisers, 65 Omega class destroyers, 32 Warlock advanced destroyers and the three SDF class battle fortress. Not included were the tenders, freighters and shuttles. This fleet would get 30 new ships with the end of the month.

Rick slowly opened his eyes and regretted it at the same time. His hand slowly moved towards his head. He felt like he had the mother of all headaches.
"A kingdom for an Asperin," he muttered.
"That bad?" Roy asked.
Rick now opened his eyes again and blinked a few times to get the haze out of his field of vision. As he turned his eyes to Roy he could see the worried face of the pilot .
"How do you feel?" Roy asked.
Rick groaned.
"I think, I feel like you look."
Roy chuckled.
"We had some run-ins with the enemy in the last few days. But we have been able to kick their ass with the help of the 24th CDF."
Rick couldn't help but shot up to a sitting position and stare at Roy.
"Enemy? How long was I out?"
"Three days. An alien fleet had assaulted us at Launch-day of the Macross."
Rick couldn't help but thing of the strange dreams he had when he was out, especially the masses of fighters and EarthForce ships in the last part. His mouth was dry as he looked at Roy. Somehow he knew that he had to get involved in this war, even when most parts of his mind screamed not to do it, remembering the speeches of his father, who had been shot down over Bosnia during the 1990ies.
"What do I have to do to help."
Roy blinked at that.
