"Why were you so anxious to cut the study session short?" asked Ami. Not that Usagi was normally that inclined to study.
"Mamo-chan's taking me to a date!" Usagi beamed at the others.
A tall girl sighed and looked wistful. "I wish I had someone to go on dates with."
The aasimon chose the time exactly and put forth power. Now.
FLASH!
"Aaaah! My brooch!" Usagi yelped as her brooch containing the crystal erupted in silver light. "Whew it stopped. Huh?"
A single sheet of paper, leaving a silver comet's tail behind it, settled down to the ground.
"What did you do, meatball head?!" asked Rei in a voice that indicated she thought it likely all heck was going to break loose.
Ami was the one to pick it up, and after looking puzzled for a moment almost fainted.
"This does not bode well," said Minako.
"An agreement between the Saotome and Kino families, dating from the Warring States period, witnessed by Ieyasu Tokigawa himself - where one day the two families would be married?!" Ami looked up at one of her friends with wide eyes.
"me?" asked Makoto in a small voice.
"Now all we'd need to do is find this guy," said Minako.
"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Everyone stared as a boy flew up through the well at the shrine, did a quick arc, and slammed into the ground as if he was unsure which way "up" constituted at the moment.
Ami dropped the sheet of paper, which was fairly old and broke on hitting the ground.
Makoto started running around in circles, torn by a number of desires at the moment.
Minako latched onto Usagi's shoulder with a grip of steel and pulled her friend closer. "Usagi. Where's mine?"
"That kind of hurts, Mina-chan," said Usagi in a pained voice. "I can't remember how I did that."
Minako sniffled and began giving her best "puppy dog pleading" look.
"I'll try to remember," promised Usagi.
"ouch" said Ranma.
