It was a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Glowing in the starlight, it seemed more a fairyland than real.
And in its center She stood, waiting.
Dressed in a shimmering gown of white, her beauty caused his heart to skip a beat.
Hair, long and golden, streamed down her back. She looked up at his approach and he was caught anew by the love in her wide blue eyes.
“Endymion.” With a smile she hurried over to his arms.
“Serenity.” He could feel her warmth, the way her presence seemed to fill an aching deep in his soul.
Suddenly the mood was broken by screams. Death and destruction filled the air. Shadows loomed where moments ago none existed.
As he started to react, a living wall of shadows attacked, separating him from his love.
“Endymion!”
“Serenity!”
He drew the sword at his side and charged, hacking a path through the shadows intent on separating them.
They were endless. The closer he got, the more seemed to join the fight. With a supreme effort, he managed to carve a way to the side of his love, decimating the ranks of those who threatened her.
But the cost was high. He could feel his life draining away.As his awareness grew dark, he looked again on his beloved.
“Serenity…”
And the world went dark.

Akane Tendo shot bolt upright in bed, eyes wide and breathing heavy.
“It was a nightmare. Just a nightmare.” she chanted to herself.
Slowly she felt her heart rate slow back to normal. As it did, she considered her dream.
“Great.” she grumbled. “Its bad enough when I dream of Ranma as a girl. At least he’s really a guy. Now I’m having perverted dreams of some girl I’ve never even seen before.”
Laying down, she attempted to forget the strange dream. It proved impossible. Somehow, she knew that it was important, important in some life altering way.
She was still trying to figure out why when she fell back asleep.
