Actually, Gorkk was never really ever happy about anything ever since his mother had been asked to name him and cleared her throat. But he was especially displeased at the moment as he was on some strange island he'd never seen before. The entire place was way too bright, noisy and smelled unappetising. He would have rather been in his clan's lair, but his hunting party had to find something to take, or the whole sea trip would have been for nothing.
It was the goblin after all.
"We go this way," he told his group.
Another goblin looked at him. "Hunt?"
"Nothing else."
"Lots of animals," mentioned a third.
"Better to eat."
A growl of approval spread through the group. Brightness might be something that they didn't like, but food was always reason enough. The promise of such would be enough to get any goblin male to move out. It was in their blood, and something that they most assuredly enjoyed.
"No take?" one asked, almost showing disappointment.
"If things to take," Gorkk replied, "take."
"Is good."
"No one to stop us."
That got an agreeing cheer from his party as they imagined a successful hunt.
"Now go!"
"Grrr..," they bellowed, and slipped into the forest.
For Gorkk, the day was already looking up.
"I do believe that they think that they will be meeting no resistance," a dove murmured.
A squirrel gave a diffident shrug. "What do you expect?"
"But they would have to be stupid or unaware of what a place like this should be to believe that."
"They are goblins, remember?"
The dove nodded. "Ahh... I see your point."
Pewter looked over at the kender who was trying to show his friend some rather odd moves. He didn't understand them much, but then he had little clue as to what a paladin of Tyr was supposed to do. Since this 'Amelia' was already working for such a diety, he supposed that she knew what she was doing.
It just looked rather odd to him.
So he watched in confusion while:
