Prince Ranma: Candid Images [Episode 102716]

by Kender

There were plenty of choices, but not a lot of time, so the Rowan continued on, turning to look at one of the other major groups' candidate, this time that of the Mages' Guild.

They had plenty of females among them, many of whom were attractive enough, and had abilities that they could bring to the position. But a lot of those who were available, and in the right age group were inexperienced and still subject to the excesses of youth.

So they went to someone who they felt would be not only up to the task, but would be acceptable as such.

Neriah Emberrose was a sorceress of great skill and experience. She was quite attractive, and possessed a keen mind, both of which she was aware of, but didn't flaunt. As an instructor, she had proven to be patient and strict at the same time, making sure that her students were properly indoctrinated in all they would need to know as magic users. Age wise she was a little older than the Prince, but was not one to care about such things.

But the Rowan found one possible problem.

The woman was a workaholic. If she wasn't teaching, she was studying mystical tomes, practicing her spellwork, or something like that. She took her responsibilities very seriously, and thought of her possible marriage to the Prince in that way. Oh, there was no doubting that she thought that he was attractive, but she was burying any personal wishes under her duties.

It wasn't even a sacrifice to her, as she considered it something that she had to do.

Still, there were possiblities there, even if the Rowan wasn't sure how to get them to happen. She couldn't dive deeper though, as she knew that spying on a mage was delicate enough. When she spotted the inklings of the wish to cast a warding spell, she pulled back.

And from there went to see what the Merchants' Council had. They were those who ran businesses in trade, and had quite a stake in what would happen when he would marry. They wanted to keep him happy, and leaning towards them, so they put up their own candidate.

That girl was named Annika Polsdottir. She was the daughter of one of the more powerful merchants, and was reasonably intelligent. Her beauty was quite clear to anyone that looked at her, and she had a great fashion sense. All her life she had been taught how to deal in society, and had some knowledge on trade issues. Already she was an accomplished hostess who could plan very elaborate affairs with grace and skill.

However, she had been brought up as exactly that. Annika was the perfect merchant's wife and daughter. She could be expected to host parties, entertain guests and clients, make witty chatter, be involved in society works, and that sort of thing. But she would never really step out of her husband's shadow, and likely would always seen as the Prince's wife.

Turning from her, she turned to find the Sailors' Guild having their own candidate. That surprised the Rowan, though she supposed that it shouldn't have. They really weren't all just rowdy seamen, as they had adapted to all sorts of craft over the years. While the merchants were their bosses and clients, they were the ones who worked the spelljammers and such. And as citizens, they had the right to put forth their own candidate.

Theirs was a ship's captain named Nissa Seaheart. She was quite the skilled individual, as she had risen to be in charge of her own vessel within by a relatively young age. A strong willed person, she was quite capable of controlling a crew without any trouble. Not only was she brave as well, but she embraced danger and chance taking. Her manner was forthright and she didn't mind conftronation. Physically attractive already, long hours working along side her crew had given her a strong body that was definately fit.

Which came in handy when she had come into a couple of scraps over the years, one of which the Prince had helped her in. Mentally disarmed by a young man who had only cared about helping out a person being attacked, she found herself appreciating him. As she loved Rangard, and the idea of having her home there, the idea of marrying someone there was not out of the question. And if it was with that particularly brave individual, it wouldn't be something that she minded.

Pursing her lips, the Rowan pulled back from the dock area, and considered the woman. She wasn't rushing to marry the Prince, but she liked him well enough, and could grow closer. The possibility of someone with a mind of their own did appeal, though there were other candidates with possibilities of their own.

One of which she was about to check as she turned her attention to the next candidate that she located, who happened to be from the:
