The New Demon: More chaos than you bargained for. [Episode 102910]

by Drakuzz

Hild sat back in her chair, a look of contentment on her face. Today she'd just recruited Saotome Ranma as a new demon at her service. A mortal that during his lifetime spread chaos, hatred, jealously and tons of other negative emotions all around him like few in human history. And without even trying!

Sticking Mara with him was just an added bonus. She could see it in Mara's face as she exited the office, the demoness would do her best in this latest assignment. She purposely allowed Mara to see Ranma defeat the demon of the Ninth Pouch, and then had her present as she manipulated Ranma into accepting becoming a demon. For Mara having a demon that could defeat an actual Warrior Demon First Class and would be easily manipulated was too good a chance to pass up.

Hild was in a decidedly good mood. "And I didn't have to move a finger to have Ranma brought down here." The very chaos that was caused by his presence was what did him in. The dark feelings of betrayal and revenge that turned him into perfect demon material came from a situation without the influence of Nifelheim. The training he forced himself into by fighting his tormentor was what most demons had to go through when they were promoted. Saotome Ranma was a gift to Nifelheim in so many ways. He would be a source of so much chaos now that he was a demon.

It was with that very same good mood that Hild answered the phone. "Yes?"

The voice on the other end was that of her personal secretary. "Boss? There seems to be a problem."

"What is it?" Hild asked with a frown. Her secretary sounded nervous.

"It's better if you see it. Security crystals 6 and 7."

Hild nodded and hung the phone. She then turned to her terminal and typed in the command to have a screen appear on top of her desk, displaying the image of the streets of Nifelheim. Her eyes widened when she caught sight of the destruction on sector 6, and the ensuing massacre that was taking place in sector 7. "What the...?"

---

Mara just barely dodged under a lightning bolt and jumped back from a fireball. She didn't have a chance to land on her feet before someone caught her from behind, encircling his arms around her body and holding her breasts with his hands. It was a hold meant to retrain her, but she saw it another way. "PERVERT!" She shouted and summoned her energy, frying the perverted demon and sending his charred body flying back. "RANMA! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" The demoness definitely was feeling the urge to kill the arrogant, sexist, trigger-happy demon. A new record since she'd only known him for the better part of two hours.

Ranma, a huge smirk on his face, ignored Mara's accusation since it was true and fought for all he was worth in the biggest free-for-all he'd ever been in. He kicked a big guy in the groin and punched away an annoying Bruce Lee wannabe before barely managing to roll out of the way of a lightning bolt, only to fall right into the awaiting hands of a vampire. "What's he doing here anyway?" He muttered as he executed the Amaguriken. The vampire doubled over in pain, but not before having slashed Ranma across the face.

Both Mara and her new apprentice continued fighting against the mob of angry denizens of Nifelheim. To think Ranma's big mouth got them into this situation... Unthinkable!

---

Hild stared in shock at something that hadn't happened in Nifelheim for thousands of years. She didn't have to be a genius to understand what was happening. Ranma and Mara were in the middle of the massacre after all. She groaned and rubbed her forehead to chase away the headache that was starting to develop. "I am so going to assign him to Midgard. Permanently."

---

Three hours later Mara was limping down another street of Nifelheim. All the while glaring daggers at her companion.

"What?" Ranma asked, wondering what her problem was. While his clothing was reduced to rags after the big fight he healed the numerous injuries and looked to be fine.

Mara, on the other hand, was perfectly dressed and cursed at his ability to heal faster than she did. While she used her demon powers to regenerate her clothes, something he didn't know how to do yet, he healed at least four times faster than she did. The demoness increased the intensity of her glare. "What? WHAT?! Look at the mess you caused!"

"It wasn't my fault!" Ranma snapped back, returning her glare with one of his own.

Mara wasn't intimidated by the glare. While it was true he healed faster than she did it was also true she defeated more opponents. He wasn't experienced enough to defeat someone like her. He could outfight a warrior demon, but she was a lot trickier and more dangerous than one of those. "And how, curse tell, wasn't it your fault? You were the one to lead those succubae on and away from the customers! And when you pissed them all off by opening your big mouth!"

"What the hell are you talking about?" Ranma looked genuinely confused. He didn't remember anything of the sort, at least not the way Mara was describing what happened.

Mara blinked. "You really don't get it, do you?" Ranma's face told her he didn't. "Great! Just fucking great." She grumbled and continued walking. The assignment wouldn't be as easy as she thought at first if Ranma was as naive as he appeared to be. He would still be easy to manipulate, yet at the same time she'd have to be careful to keep him out of trouble.

The pigtailed demon shrugged his shoulders and continued to walk next to Mara.

---

"Finally!" Mara was really glad their business in Nifelheim was over. So far Ranma had managed to get them into three fights, though the latter two were nowhere near as destructive as the first one they were more embarrassing. Hild was going to have a stroke when she heard about all of it.

Ranma, for his part, looked embarrassed over the last fight. "Come on! How was I supposed to know those tentacle things would go after you instead of me?"

Mara refused to answer the question, contenting herself with glaring once more at him, before sighing. "Look... just shut up. We're going to Midgard now so you can have your revenge."

The pigtailed demon's expression instantly turned to a somber one. "Really?"

Mara nodded her head. "Where do we go first?"

Ranma had been thinking about who to get first on his revenge. In the end he came up with the, to him, best plan possible. "Let's go get..."
