Dread because of his incompetence putting their lives in danger, and awe that he'd not just reached such a high position, but survived a long term friendship with Lord Vader.
The fleet dropped out of hyperspace in their typical formation on approach to the trade corridors of the Warner system. The ISDs were crisp and neat in their textbook examples of battle formation. As the warships ended their hyperspace run, they realized that they had dropped right around a minuscule (by comparison) looking orange smuggling craft, which had just completed liftoff from its most recent smuggling run, doing a quick orbital over to another continent for another delivery.
The view from the tiny orange cone zoomed out to realize the impressive white battle squadron of gargantuan triangular shapes dwarfing their little craft.
Zooming back in on the bridge of that little carrot shape revealed a black duck turning white as he read the sensor information confirming TIE fighter launches.
Feather turned his head to fur, lisping through a beak, "Good bye, captain. Itsss been an honor ssserving with you."
"Thank you, Daffy. I only wish it wouldn't end like this." Bugs popped the cork on a jug labeled 'XXX' and took a mighty swig.
Daffy, suddenly dressed in French style with smoke drifting about, got all mooney-eyed. "Yesss, our little zzlip againzt the imperial fleet. WAAAA AH AH AH AH!!! I'm too young to die."
Immediately, the little ship began dodging and weaving like mad though turbolaser bolts and photon torpedoes. With almost all the missing attacks (which 100% were misses) hitting other imperial ships.
In the cockpit Daffy and Bugs sat in the two pilots seats, both trying to pilot with blindfolds on to be prepared for their impending deaths.
"Yes, Daffy our valiant charge to help defend our home by bringing them a ton of carrot juice."
"Wait, one ton? Last time I looked we had 2 tons... You drank it all didn't you!!" screamed a near hysterical Daffy. "And how do you keep your figure, then" muttered Daffy in a low tone.
"Of course, where did you think I was during the hyperspace jump?" Bugs lifted up his blindfold to look at Daffy. "Why do you think we haven't been hit? Carrot juice helps us rabbits connect to the force" (Remember Darth Vader was able to stop blaster bolts with his hands, so make the force a bit more specific for one race with a chemical trigger and...).
"Ho, sso that'ss how you do it." *Daffy took off his blindfold and looked outside at the complete darkness* "Um, Buggzie. Where are we?"
During the friendly fire incidents of the other imperial forces, the imperial fleet had lost track of the smuggler. Although if anyone bothered to look they would see that Fudd's ship had its center engine out, but no one wanted to tell Fudd that they were going slow because one of the engines had an error. While the fleet thought the flag ship was going at the speed he wanted them to go at so unless you made careful observations you wouldn't notice that you were going slowly. Fudd didn't make any careful observation, if he made any.
Bugs looked around, then turned to Daffy. "Come on Daffy we got to go."
"What? Wait! Where are we?"
"Come on and pickup that box with the button." Bugs said as he opened a hatch to the outside and started walking outside with Daffy hurrying after him holding the box.
As Bugs and finally Daffy climbed out of a hatch which Bugs closed Daffy asked again weakly, "where?" To which Bugs point up to the sign above the hatch, 'WARNING: PRIMARY STORAGE TANK FOR ION DRIVE' and then to a small map that showed the shape of an Imperial Class Star Destroyer with a proud 'ISD BETTY' printed on the top. About midway through one of the tanks for the Destroyer-I engines was a red dot with an arrow that said 'You are here'. To which Daffy just fainted dead away. While all but unnoticed their old ship was crushed without Bugs' force powers from protecting it from the immense pressure around it.
As it was pushed out of the storage chamber and into the ion engine the little freighter was quickly made one with the vacuum. Without Bug's active force protection to divert the energy in the ion engine, the ship was vaporized post haste, as the engine seemed to restart. The engine crew aboard the ISD Betty sighed in relief because they didn't have to tell Inspector Fudd about the engine error.

Later, in a clothing storage area. "You're doing what?!?!" Yelled Daffy, forgetting that they were supposed to be quiet.
"I'm going to ask Fudd to see us to a friendly area along with his ships." Answered Bugs in a calm voice completely at odds with Daffy's voice, while carefully tucking his long ears up under his new hat.
"And how are you going to do that, I would like to know."
With a single, swishing motion Bugs had the duck in a white uniform tunic. "With you, Grand Admiral Daffy."

"Inspector Fudd." Fudd spun around to see a duck in a Grand Admiral uniform and someone familiar looking wearing an Imperial Auditors' uniform.
"Yes?" Fudd answered meekly.
The person in the Imperial Auditors' uniform began talking. "Ah good, we need your help to bring in this sector's Moff on charges of hoarding money and supplies from the Empire and turning most of the forces in this sector. I need to go to the sector capital to arrest him and Grand Admiral Daffy here needs most of your fleet to recapture the rogue sector forces that were originally assigned to this area."
Fudd couldn't help but feel his pride rise at being here to help these people help remove an awful man and recapture equipment that rightfully belonged to the Empire. That he could use this as an excuse to read his new 'Field and Stream' was just a coincidence. "Of couwse siw. I will take you to that evil Moff."
The Auditor's eye brow rose, "And loan your other ships to Grand Admiral Daffy, right?"
"Of couwse, siw."
The Moff of the sector had no idea what he had done and denied all charges, but he was accused by one of the Emperors personal auditors and so it made little difference. Thus most of the sector's highest ranking people shuttled up to Fudd's ISD while Daffy was taking control of all 'traitorous' imperial's ships and facilities. Which included 8 ISDs, a number of smaller warships, and had all important bases stripped of all war materials, and all warship production/maintenance which included a small research station that was just over the border in a neighboring sector which was researching more powerful turbolasers and had a small prototyping facility. Of course Daffy used only Fudd's 'loyal' stormtroopers to capture facilities 'unloyal' to the emperor.
While Fudd was reading his magazine in the bathroom (along with the additional magazines Bugs had slipped into his pile to occupy him in the locked from the outside bathroom.) Daffy asked "So were do we go now, Buggzie old buddy, old pal?"
"Do you have that box still Daffy?" Bugs asked his fine, feathered friend.
"Sure here it is just why do you want it?" Daffy cut off as Bugs pushed the button and the box expanded and fell away to revile a container filled with carrot juice.
"Now, I will become one with the force to find out were we should go." Said Bugs calmly and without a sign of temptation except that glint in his eye for the carrot juice.
Hours later in a carrot juice haze in the force Bugs Bunny found a like mind to which he communicated his problem wordlessly and found a very handy solution. As he came out of that he informed Daffy and he gave the orders.
"All ships this is Grand Admiral Daffy. We will be going to a secure facility that the Emperor has setup for people like this. Slave all your navigation systems to the flagship. When we arrive a ship will pull along side to inspect each ship. To prevent any traitors that may still be on our ships they will take the crew into temporary custody and conduct a complete search of the fleet to ensure there are no traitors among the crew or hiding on board. That is all."
