Dejiko slumped over the checkout counter of Gamers, listless and empty of life as she reviewed her life story once again. She had begun life as Ranma Saotome, Martial Artist esq. and heir to the Saotome School of Anything Goes Martial Arts. Then he became a she for the first time at Jyuusenkyo, after which it was just one bad situation after another, finally culminating in her getting access to the Great Will of the Universe, and wishing to escape the trap known as her life, wished to be reborn in the body of another.
Unfortunately, he had been born the man-child of the king and queen of planet Di Gi Charat, and due to the fact that they were both kind of loopy, they named him as princess Di Gi Charat. They promptly realized their mistake and corrected it, but not the obvious way. Instead of making him the prince of Di Gi Charat, they altered his sex to make him (now her) the princess of Di Gi Charat, full name of "Di Gi Charat", and called "Dejiko" for short.
Yes, it sucked to be her... him.
If she had her way, Dejiko wouldn't be wearing a nice dress. Again, that was an intervention on the part of her parents, who—quite puzzled and proturbed about their daughter not wearing traditional feminine clothing and being afraid of cats despite being a member of a cat-like race—called up the palace brainwashers to remove the ailurophobia from Dejiko's brain and impress a firm sense of femininity.
The being cured of the Nekoken thing was kinda cool, but the severe and debilitating conditioned responses when donning anything even remotely resembling masculine clothes... that part totally bit. It was because of the aforementioned severe and debilitating conditioned response to male clothes that were the reason for the maid clothes she now wore, rather than the Chinese tang and pants she would've preferred.
If the real Dejiko's upbringing was anything like mine, thought the prodigal princess Di Gi Charat of a planet of the same name, I don't wonder how she grew up to be such a brat. A bat shit crazy brat, that is. That invasion was probably the best thing that happened to her: it got her away from those screwball parents.
ANYway, Princess Di Gi Charat and her sidekick Petit Charat, along with their slave sphere Gema arrived on Earth with all the riches they could carry... only to find they were rich enough to be considered poor on this planet. Thus leading Princess Di Gi Charat (now known as Dejiko), Petit Charat (Puchiko) and Gema (Gema) to eke out a meager existence as Gamers service people.
Sometimes she wondered if it was worth it: the near-slavery she was put under, the barely adequate pay, the retched help in the form of Hikaru Usada (AKA, Rabi En Rose, but she hated getting called by that name), the fanboys, the crazy-ass panda girl, Piyoko. It was all very wearing on the nerves.
