While still an adventure loving kid at heart, the V-tamer Tai has a tactical creative side his anime counter part doesn't.
Meek and always cheerful, Rei has always refused to let her limitation in the real world weight her down, she doesn't stop her from enjoying her freedom in the digital world though.
Once kind and tender, Neo still has a constant smile on his face like he did before Rei wond up in a wheel chair: but now it's combined with the look a predator ready to strike on upsuspecting prey, with Rei as an exception, Neo is willing and able to use and discard humans and digimon alike to get what he wants without a trace of regrete.
Hideto is serious, silent, and moody, haunted by the accident that cost Rei the use of her legs, he doesn't realize how much it changed Neo. Mari and Sigma look to him as their leader.
Nicked named, 'Mimi's evil twin', Mari is cheerful and a total flirt, but when unset she can be down right vicious.
Sigma looks perfectly normal underneath his mask, however, he's scared of people getting close to him and deciding he's not worth their time, his mask is his way of keeping a 'cool' air of mystery about himself.
A digimon is allowed to use any form it can muster as long as it doesn't involve joining with another digimon.
Question: What of mid-battle digivolution? Are we allowed to digivolve into higher forms durning the battle? (Example: Say that I start of with agumon, but during the fight, I warpdigivolve him into Wargrymon, can we do that?)
Answer: Yes.
Question:Why limmit to just the kids/digimon? Why not use the bad rogue digimon? like Mytoticemon, or MetalSeedramon?
Answer: Part of this tournament is about who has the best human/digimon combination. Digimon without a human other, or vice versa are not allowed to enter. (The 04 kids have the spirits of the ten legendary warriors to act as 'partner digimon' to enter.)
Question: And then again, what of the digimons dark forms? Each digimon has one. What if I wanted to use Dark/Shadow/Black Agumon, so that way I could use BlackWarGrymon?
Answer: Corrupt digivolutions are not offically against the rules but they are impossible to control or stop except by force, and it will not be looked on favorably if a digimon kept attacking after being declared the winner.
Question: What of card use for 03 tamers? Are the humans allowed to use the cards to help boost their digimon? And also, you said that the digimon can use any form it can muster as long as its not with another digimon, dose that include Grony (Sp)? (Youknow, Glantmon's (Sp?) littly flying ship in order to go into Crimsom mode)
Answer: In the second Tamers movie (not shown in the USA) Takato showed he could use Gallentmon Crimson Mode without Granni after the battle with the D-Reaper.
Yes, Tamers can used modify cards to help their digimon, just as 02 destine can change armor forms at any time and th 04 kids are allowed to use 'slide evolution' mid-fight as well.
This is NOT Dragon Ball Z here nor is it Yugioh. Fighters will be expected to use their wits as well as their power levels and the speed and strength of their attacks. In other words, the human/digimon combo will be tested as the teams (made of one human and one digimon ideally) try to out smart each other as well as over power each other.
Question: You say that no fusion is allowed unless the one digidestent has the two digimon. But in all the shows I have seen, no body has more then one digimon (aside 04, but they only digivoled with their 'main' digispirit aside the fusion for EmporerGrymon and MagnaGarurumon?
Answer: The basic rule is one digimon in battle per-side per-match.
The high level spirit fusions use the spirits of the other kids not just their own, so no go.
Question: And this no fusion can hinder some digimon with digivolutions, so my question is, is it alright if I go by how the digimon digivolve in the games? (Ex: Veemon - Veedramon - ArrowVeedramon - Imperarlmon. WarGrymon to Omnimon without use of MetalGarurumon. Other mega forms not seen in the show of some of the first digimon)
Answer: Sorry.
Basically I want to keep the 'gawd stompers' out of the things.
I want to run this tournament to work the bugs out.
While there might seem to be a power inbalance here, remember what happened in the anime adaption of Sonic Fighters . . . oh yea, since it hasn't been offically released yet, I don't think you want the spoilers.
"Attention all teams! After random selection, the Match-ups for the first round will be as follows."
A giant transparent vid-screen popped into existence in front of the commentator's booth. The teams all assembled in the ring watched the names scroll down and turn into a tournament tree.

"Hey!" Henry/Jenrya's Terriermon protested. "How come the humans get listed and we don't?!"
Henry sighed. "With all the different form names you guys have it would have gotten confusing, we humans have only one."
"What are you talking about? You have a name for what your dad calls you, you have a name for what your American net-pals call you, and another name for what your mom calls you."
"Mom's Chinese, dad's Japanese, and like you said, my net pals are on the other side of the ocean. Different languages, different variations on the same name. I don't like it but it's how the world works."
"Aren't –we- '03-Tamers' the human/digimon pairs that normally challenge the system?"
" . . . Terriermon . . . if we're going to do battle with the established, I think I'll wait for something a bit more important."
As this discussion continued the other teams were taking in who they would be facing off against.
"Hey Zeromaru!" Taichi 'V' Yagami pointed at the screen for his partner digimon calling him by his personal name. "Check it out! We're taking on one of those '03 kids first. Dangit, I was hoping I could see how I measure up against myself, or at least knock Neo out of this tournament before he hurts someone."
"Don't worry, if you're anything like you, you'll be facing off against yourself before ya know it . . . Okay, forget I even said that!"
"Good sir!" The 100% combo looked behind themselves to see a brown bolted robot. "I do believe yee have forgotten that yee must first do battle with myself and my fair ally on yee honorable field of battle before yee shall have even hope of doing battle with yee nemesis or yonder mirror image! And yee good sir will not vanquish us!"
A boy in a boy in a black shirt with a gold cross design on the front came from behind the machine to translate. "What my buddy here is saying is that we're gonna ownz ya daddy!"
The glitch dragon and north sector child looked at each other.
"Which did you understand better?"
"I have to choose?"
So that's my first opponent. Cody thought to himself. "Armadillomon?"
"Yes Cody?"
"Let's prove to them size doesn't matter."
"You know I'm gonna give it my all!"
"Good." The little samerai responded.
Doesn't look so tough. The destine of the dark thought looking at the short lad's image next to his. But looks can be very deceptive. He looked at his d-tector/d-scanner looking his warrior and animal spirits in the eye. Either way, I'm not leaving this tournament in the first round!
"Wow!" Davis said. "I can't believe it V-mon! Me and Tai in the first round! Guess we're having the last match first in a way huh? This is just so cool! Mentor and student in a final test of digivolution and skill! This is gonna be great!"
Another digimon would have suggested Davis contain himself, V-mon however, was too excited himself to care. After all, V-mon were good luck, and with Davis' own good luck (aside from matters involving Kari and Gatomon) they couldn't lose!
"Well." Tai blinked at the screen. "This is unexpected."
Agumon himself just found it weird. "Are you SURE this is all random?"
"It's –supposed- to be random . . . Oh well, what the hey, I'm sure we'll have fun with this!"
Ryo didn't know weather to feel guilty or excited. He was going off against Suzie. A less experienced tamer would assume she was an easy victory . . . but having a Dava for a partner digimon combined with the power of a small child's powerful imagination . . . Ryo knew he best be at his strongest in this fight. He just hoped he didn't hurt little Suzie or Henry's feeling too much when he won!
Suzie of course consider this all play, while Lopmon knew that a veteran like Ryo would be near impossible to beat, Suzie wasn't the least bit worried. Well, Digimon's power came from imagination and faith, maybe Suzie's faith would pull them through. And if all else failed, she was a Dava, she knew no fear!
"That's my opponent? A geek and cream puff?" Koji raised an eye brow at the glasses boy and the little angel digimon. "Well at least I'll get to the second round no problem."
"We'll MarineAngemon. I don't care how stone cold this guy looks! I'm not scared! How about you?"
Marine Angemon answered his normal babble that Kenta understood perfectly. ~I won't worry if you don't. After all, who can resist –this- cute face?~
"You're one weird angel."
~I evolved from Gommamon, what did you expect? Sermons?~
Two human minds with a single thought. 'Well. That's my free ticket to the next round. Not that I was worried whoever my opponent was going to be.' Their partner digimon shared similar expressions of concern too.
"Heh." Impmon smirked. "We lucked out. We're ain't gonna fight some we know dis round! I won't have ta hold back!"
Ai and Mako looked at each other. Sometimes even they didn't understand Impmon.
"They're so cute!" Mari said. "I don't know if I can't bring myself to fight them! Oh I'll just keep my eyes closed when we fight! Right Rosemon?"
"Just as long I don't have to keep my eyes closed . . . should I switch my whip in for a paddle?"
Hideto looked up from the fighter profile halo pad he was holding. "Heh. So you're top dog of your group huh? I guess I'll be the first to see what you're made up. Not that it'll be there for very long."
"Yes sir." Said Omegamon at his side. "Will we enter combined or just one of us?"
"I'll let you know before the match."
"Sir."
"I can't wait!" Takuya said to himself. "Leader of Alias III huh? No better way to show that nothing beats spirit power, espiecally a digimon too inexperinced not to think for himself during a fight!"
The thick head of the goggle head is omipresent.
"Looks like it's you and me Sora." Kari smiled.
"Looks that way." Sora laughed. "Just promise you'll go easy on me and Biyomon."
"Don't worry, me and Gatomon know where the line is, besides, it's not like anyone is in this tournament to hurt anyone."
"Well." Takato said. "I was hoping for Davis or one of the Tais but I guess taking on an original 01 destine is kinda cool."
"He looks sorte like Kenta Takatomon." Guilmon observed.
Takato thought about how to put this gently. "Well, I guess they just both like the same things." Takato decided it just wasn't nice to call someone a geek even if the mold fit.
"Oh man!" Joe whined. "Of all the digimon to go up against I have to go up against the one that can turn into 'ye who can destroy all the digital plane' why couldn't I have gone off against . . . . against-"
"Face it Joe." Gommamon criticized. "You'd be wetting your pants no matter who you'd be up against. Just take it like a man."
"Sure easy for you to say."
"Easy for me to say?! I'm the one doing the fighting here!"
"I have to go up against a GIRL?!" Tomoki exclaimed. Tommy was at that age were gender was a major deal. "Come on! What kind of fight is that? Sigh . . . Her idea of fighting has to be talking over tea."
"Oh he's so cute Hawkmon! Just look at him! I wonder what his digimon is like."
"According to this." Hawkmon looked up from the fighter halo pad. "he changes –into- a digimon."
"That's even cuter!"
Hawkmon sighed. Why were the digimon always the level headed ones in these partnerships?
"I wouldn't make any long term political plans and just focus on making peace with your so-called loved ones and your meaningless empty relationships with them. You won't be seeing them for a very, very long time." Henry saw it was the same boy he was matched up against. Henry tensed and used most of his will power not to go into a fighting stance, everything about this guy scream 'threat.' "It's only a real question which of my digimon I'll decide will have the privilege of crushing you and devouring your digimon."
Henry blinked. "You have more than one digimon?"
"In my home in the real world I have a room that is wall to wall with VR-pets, each one representing a digimon in north sector . . . of course I've used most of them as free food for more worthy digimon . . . but I think you get the idea."
"Yea . . . you're completely out of your head! How can you treat your own digimon like that?!"
Neo's eye twitched. "Because . . they ARE mine! Oh and I'd keep a close eye on anyone important to you before our match starts, accidents do happen . . ." Neo walked off before Henry could grab him by the neck of that stupid scarf.
"I'm bound to collect some amazing data with our digimon sparing in a control environment like this." Izzy calculated.
"Just make sure you don't speed too much time looking at your computer during the fight Izzy. Or you just might up in time to see Tentomon on the ground with swirly eyes."
"Please that is a childish cartoon physics impossibility."
Ken kept quite. No last name. Just Sigma. Whoever this guy was. He was clearly tougher than nails to have that kind of air about him. Ken only hoped Wormmon could somehow pull this off . . .
'Stay calm. Don't let anyone see you're nervous. Stay calm. Stay cool. No one can see your face and see you're sweating . . . ' Sigma said to himself behind his mask.
His Piedmon doing his best to add to his tamer's creepiness.
"So two star crossed lovers will face each other on the field of battle oh how cruel-"
"Oh save it." Zoe pokedmon Junpei in the ribs. "I'm not interested in you so give me a break. Er, forget I said that, I'll give YOU the break, plenty of them, when our fight starts. I'm just sad it's the last one in the round."
"All the more time to contemplate this fateful battle my-"
"I said shut your mouth!"
If Jeri had been drawn a cat girl, her tail would have been wagging. "Tomorrow is the start of the Digi-World tournament. Can you believe it? I can hardly wait."
Alice just stared at the Kato girl, she could barely stand the happiness oozing from her. "Given the fate of your digimon and mine, I wouldn't think you'd be the first to be over excited at the idea of digimon beating each other to data bits."
Alice's rain cloud demeanor was the irresistible force, but Jeri's happy go lucky shell personality was the irresistible force. "It's not like they're going to really try to delete each other and absorb their data! This is just a friendly competition between kids and digimon."
Alice let out a sound of contempt paired with a swift looking out onto the empty arena that would soon see so many battles. The commentator's booth's glass reflected her Vulcan akin air.
Jeri thought of something. "If you don't like this so much, then why did you agree to an announcer for this?"
Alice looked at Jeri with that barely human doll like expression. "I never said –I- disliked it. I merely wondered at your lack of reluctance to play your part, or alternately, you wished to act as ref to prevent unneeded data shed."
Jeri was a bit confused by that remark. "I, just thought, that it would be fun. After all, that's what everyone is here for right?"
Alice didn't even respond, just looking at Jeri like she was the world's greatest puzzle box, daring the American to solve it. After everything she's endured. How has her idealism survived?
