"Huh?" Ranma blurted as what she said began to register. But instinct took over and he automatically dodged the attack. "Erk!"
"You stay still in battle!"
"I don't wanna do this!"
"Is tough! We settle things!"
"Do we haveta?" he asked, and got a jab with the mallet in response. "I guess so..."
She nodded stiffly, and charged at him, sending blow after blow at him. He found himself hard pressed to avoid them all, as her speed was definately faster. And when she managed to hit his shoulder, he realised that she could hit harder as well. There was more direction in her attacks, and it was clear that she had a better handle on her emotions. Instead of completely clouding her judgement, her temper was put more into her fighting, which kept the old misdirection techniques from working.
When one of those feints didn't work and she scored him on the shoulder, he decided that he would have to put a stop to this.
So he decided to fight back, though he wasn't about to pound her silly. The first thing that had to go was the mallet, so he sidestepped the attacks until she raised it up high. Then with a swift strike, he sent it sailing off to hit into the ground.
Having succeeded in that didn't mean that she was out of it, and she began to punch and kick at him, including a few high ones that excited the males, and gave him a bit of anxiety. Quite a few times he was forced to block, and she nearly took his head off with a spin kick.
But he was far from beaten, and he used her do a handstand on before landing on his feet behind her. Twisting around before she could react, he swept his leg into the backs of her knees, unbalancing her so that she began to fall. Yet she didn't strike the ground, or have enough time to stop herself, as he took her arm, and swung her around to send her flying into the air. That sent her crashing into the ground and skidding to a stop, but she managed to pull herself to a standing position, and she charged right back at him with a fist raised to strike.
Seeing the former Tendo coming at him with her teeth bared in a snarl, Ranma dived out of the way, and picked up the mallet to block her attacks. He managed to use it for several moments before she sent it flying into the air. With him surprised at her being able to manage that, she saw her opportunity, and went to slam her fist into his face.
Except that he saw it and simply reacted. Spinning around her, he snapped his hand out to land a knockout blow to the back of her head before she could know what was happening. With the hit, her eyes rolled up into the back of her head and closed as she began to fall.
Freaking out at the sight of her about to collapse to the ground, he caught her before she hit the earth and stood there as he tried to figure out what else he could do.
"Seems you won," Hestia commented.
Rubbing the back of his head with a free hand, the pigtailed boy chuckled nervously. "Uhh... yeah..."
"You seem to have managed fighting an Amazon other than Shampoo well enough."
"Well, I did face off against Cologne so..."
"Too true."
"At least it wasn't too bad," Sailor Moon hesitantly put in.
Artemis shrugged. "It could be worse."
