Including Akane who had been clenching her jaw in a mix of anger and anxiety. For a few moments she managed to sit still, but in a big sigh of frustration, she burst from her seat and headed directly for a gun rack.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Nabiki barked.
Pulling a weapon free, the younger Tendo peered at her sister. "I'm taking a team and we're going out onto the hull to look for that thing."
"Are you insane? That's a Shadow construct, not just some trained soldier!"
"So? I can't just wait here for it to come kill us!"
The elder girl gave her a dark look. "Then you've decided to go and get killed sooner?"
"I really don't plan on getting taken out, but we have to do something. And I prefer to get it before it gets us."
"Right, like just anyone can do it. Let's come up with a reasonable plan."
"Like what?" Akane retorted, "Run away? In case you haven't noticed, that thing's on our hull, and for all we now, it can hang on for as long as it wants to."
"We can find a way."
"Not in time, and I'm not about to wait."
"Arg..," Nabiki growled as she glared at her sibling, "Little sister..."
Setting her weapon into firing mode, Akane walked off towards the air locks.
"Damn it... She's going to get herself killed, along with the rest of us..."
Akane lead her small detachment out of the ship and looked around as much as her spacesuit visor would let her. "Get out here and into a defensive ring. And be ready for anything."
It was obvious that the other crew members were not as willing to face the danger lurking in the vacuum, but they were coming out.
Forcing herself to be satisfied by that, she readied her weapon and scanned the area for the construct while:
