As the screen switched, Akane and Ranma leaned forward, watching the building closely.
"That's Kodachi's home," Akane said, narrowing her eyes.
"The home is the residence of the Hirai Choei and Kodachi, noted researchers in robotics and genetics respectively, better known as the retired heroes Centipede and Rose," Akako said. "Just fifteen minutes ago the firefight ended and our local heroes, Jade Samurai and Dark Blade took into custody several paramilitary commandos. We do not know the origins for certain, but they seem to be wearing insignia of a nazi splinter group from the time of World War II."
"What about Centipede or Rose, Akako?" the anchor asked.
"No sign has been seen of either," Akako said, "But they could just be speaking to the police. It is assumed that the attackers were after their combined scientific secrets and perhaps Rose herself, who is somethign of scientific wonder in and of herself."
Ranma and Akane were interrupted from watching further as their son came in the room.
"Mommy, Daddy," Jun Saotome said. "Aunt Dachi's in the dojo...she's hurt."
His parents were moving before he finished, Akane stopping with her son to calm him down and get him to wait quietly before following Ranma, sweeping through the house like a wind through grass.
Kodachi was sitting there, panting, blood dripping from numerous wounds, the haft of a broken club in her green-skinned hand, as she sat in a corner, glaring into space. As Ranma came in, she looked up and said two words.
"Train me."

"We need someone to investigate the Rikti invasion," the man said. "And you're the closest unit. Detective Makibi, surely you can leave the standard operations to your partner and take some time to..."
"I'll do it!"

The girl was a sight. Cat ears, black-spotted, grey fur, long rat's tail...and she was about six foot seven inches tall.
She wanted to find one thing, adventure. Her parents had had adventure at her age, and now she wanted her own share. She wanted to fight bad guys and protect the righteous. She wanted to be a soldier in the front lines of justice.
She mainly wanted to have fun and practice her magic.
What better place than Paragon city?

Mink sighed and closed her ears as her parents morning routine started again. Who could have thought that her father was one time a famous hero, and her mother a villain. Not when they behaved so...stupidly all the time.
"Hold, foul beast! You have this coming!"
"Foul beast, am I? Well! We'll see about that!"
"This just in, a riot has just broken out and the city is calling in all heroes to help put it to an end," the news declared. "They will even accept new registrations at this time."
There was a crash and Mink cringed. It certainly sounded more fun than hanging around here.

And, into town, wandered a blonde with spikey hair and a big gun...
