Symbiont Arkangel: Round One [Episode 105797]

by Kender

Haruka Ten'ou was the sort of girl that other, more normal, girls admired immensely. She was the strong and cool type, able to face off with the guys in anything she did, and beat them easily. Being a star competitor in both foot and motorcycle races with aspirations to be in car races, she managed to make it look easy. That, combined with her casual sense of style made other girls want to be just like her. Of course, they knew nothing of her secret identity, and the fact that she could do some amazing things when she transformed.

But she knew it all, and was confident in her training that she could match anyone around. After all, she had gone up some cocky guys before, and beaten them every time, both in races and fights. As she warmed up, she was already seeing how she would win, and the victory afterwards.

"Wow... Haruka looks really into this," Usagi said as she stifled the yawn that remained from her slumber. Getting out of bed that early had been something that she was totally against, but idea of food and seeing Haruka's fight were enough to get her up. "Don't you think so?"

"Yes, but the others are focused on other things," Rei commented, glancing at some of her fellow Senshi.

"Hmmm?" Makoto murmured absentmindedly as she stared at the young man in the tank top and pants standing in the circle.

Torn between open staring and hiding, Ami settled for shyly looking while blushing as hard as she could.

Minako looked over the hunk... yoma and decided that the best way was to make him come over to their side. And she could think of no better way than to get him romantically involved with one of them. Which would mean that she would finally get a guy... have to make the supreme sacrifice and do it herself.

"Are you sure that you want to do this?" Michiru asked her partner as she tried to ignore the silly grin on the Senshi of Love's face.

Smirking back at the violinist, Haruka fired off a practice punch. "Hell yeah! I'm going to teach this guy a lesson."

Setsuna idly wondered if that would include a session on how to get one's self eating dirt.

"If you're ready, some of us would like to get this show on the road," Ranma drawled.

"Any time you're ready!" the short haired blonde retorted.

"Good."

"Ready... Start!" barked Rei's grandfather as he chopped down with one hand.

Seeing her chance to finally lay a hand on the jerk who'd been terrorising her for so long, Haruka charged fowards, trying to get some quick hits in. Unfortunately for her, he ducked and dodged his way around each with an ease that spoke of little effort on his part. Even her kicks only made him jump, and trying to direct him into a place where she could get a hit in seemed pointless, as even if he went the way she wanted, he still avoided her strikes.

"Fight me already!" she yelled in frustration.

"Are you really sure you want that?" he asked idly.

"Yes!"

"Hey, it's your funeral."

Before she had a chance to ask what he meant, she found him ducking down low, and kicking out at her. But instead of the sort of attack that she was expecting, he kicked her legs out from under her. Then when she tried to get up, he knocked her down again. And repeated it a third time as she tried to stand.

Turning to the 'audience', he smiled. "This is why training is so important. For one thing, it gives you focus, which your friend here doesn't have. So she gets angry, and loses her control, which means that she'll keep on going."

"I'll show you 'focused', yoooouuu..!" Haruka began, just before being sent back to the ground.

"She does have a focus, but it's so narrow she can't even think about anything else."

"You big..." *WHAM!*

"So you see," the pigtailed boy commented, "No matter how hard she tries, she won't win."

"I'll..." *BAM!*

"And remember, enemies don't always wait for you to get ready. Heck, a lot of them will love to hit you while you're down, and you have to be ready to act, and react before they can."

"I can act just fiii..." *SLAM!*

"Now, there's plenty of ways to get out of this, but she's not using them."

"Because you're not really fighting me!" Haruka complained as she pulled her face out of the dirt it'd landed in. "You're being cheap!"

"Who says so? It might not be a great fight, but you've got to realise that going all out isn't always the best idea," Ranma told her as he went over and crouched on top of her, standing with his the tips of his toes on her backside. "Besides, you should stop whining, and actually try something smart for once."

"I am not whining! And get off of me!"

"No, no, no... I am the teacher here, remember, and winning doesn't happen with asking your opponents to be nice to you."

"This is nice?!"

"Compared with some of the things I went through?" he asked as he leapt away, "Yeah, it is."

Glaring at the 'yoma' in human form that was standing relaxed nearby, Haruka tried to stand up while:
