But still he had seen some unlikely things since the girls had moved in with him, so he couldn't dismiss it entirely out of hand. And some of the stuff certainly sounded like it could be useful....
Not that he would ever use any of the more questionable techniques even if they worked. He was not that kind of guy. Really.
But if there was something in there, that would allow him to gain back at least some control over his extremely volatile relationship situation, that would really be nice. And who knows, he might even find a way to defuse it entirely without getting anyone's heart broken or an interstellar war started.
There was always hope.
But first he would have to test, if the stuff in the book really worked. And he would have to do it in such a way, that nobody would be the wiser, if it turned out to be fake.
A nice cup of some of that 'special' tea should do. He could start asking some general questions and then slowly progress to topics that the girls normally would not discuss with him. If it the tea turned out to not work, he could always excuse himself for being to forward and everything would be all right.
So who would be his test-subject?
