Ryoko or Aeka would never leave him alone with the other girl for long enough. Washu was to smart and would probably find out what he had been trying, if it turned out not to work. And Mihoshi - well, he wasn't really sure how he could tell whether the tea actually had any effect on her. Her normal behavior was strange enough that she might come under the influence of any number of substances without anybody being able to tell a difference.
Besides with Sasami there would not be any temptation of taking it any further than a simple questioning. As long as she did not turn into Tsunami, that is.
Sasami smiled somewhat forced as she sipped from the tea Tenchi had made. It was a nice gesture of him, but there was a reason why she usually prepared all the food and drink for the family. She had to make sure to only include indigents that were easily digestible by the non-human members of the hose hold. Not that there appeared to be much that Ryoko could not eat, but Juraians were very sensitive.
There must have been something in the Tea. She could already feel the symptoms of a minor allergic reaction coming up. An itchy throat, mild swelling all over her face and her eyes must look all glassy again.
But it would not do to let Tenchi know that he had caused her any discomfort. Sasami tried to ignore the itching and concentrate on what Tenchi was telling her.
"... and relax." Tenchi told her. Seeing that the tea had begun to take effect. He decided to start his interrogation with some general question on Juraian customs: "So tell me Sasami is it normal for Juraians to have more then one wife?"...
Pleased that Tenchi was finally taken an interest in his Juraian heritage Sasami told Tenchi about live on her home planet, even if she must have looked somewhat strange and wooden fighting to resist the urge to scratch her itching face.
She told him about Juraian plural marriages. And explained about the lack of incest taboo. Washu could probably have done better on the last part, but Tenchi had come to her. And so she explained as best as she could about Juraians not having the sort of bad genes and everything.
Some of his questions were unexpectedly forward of him. "Did she think that Aeka would mind sharing a husband?", "What would Juraians think of somebody like him trying to marry a princess?" and "Was it true what Ryoko had said about the Aeka and the whip?"
Sasami told him ,that if Aeka new what was good for her, she would prefer sharing her love with as many women as it took if the alternative was not getting married at all. She tried to hint that Tenchi could marry as many juraian princesses as he wanted as far as she was concerned. She also tried to assure him that Ryoko had been mostly just teasing about Aeka's little SM-Queen fetish.
Tenchi was about to ask what exactly Sasami meant with "mostly teasing", but was interrupted when by a loud crash that came from the direction of his room.
Judeging by the sound of bangs and screams coming from above Ryoko and Aeka were fighting again. He should have known.
Cutting the interview with Sasami short, he told her: "When I have left you will return to normal and won't remember any of the things we spoke about." before hurrying upstairs.
She was a bit confused about his last comment, though. Who did Tenchi think she was? Of course Sasami would not betray his confidence by blabbing to anyone about their conversation. She was just glad that it looked like Tenchi was finally going to take charge and do something about his situation. Everything was going to be fine, she just would have to make sure that any long term plans he made right now would also include her.
