Wiping some faint sweat from her brow, Sora was glad that she was finally done. Walking across the beach, her mind was nearly gone. She was a little sleepy, and for good reason. She had been working on the raft all day. As she stepped on to the dock, a gentle hand touched her own. Opening her eyes, she looked over to her left, and saw Kairi's smiling face looking back at her.
"Do you mind if we sit and talk for a while?" She asked warmly.
Sora gave a nod, and then Kairi led her over to the edge of the dock, and then sat down. Sora sat next to her, and then looked out at the sunset. Her eyes then shifted back to Kairi, who is admiring the sunset as well.
Clearing her throat, she decided to ask, "W-What do you want to talk about?" Sora found herself actually nervous. She couldn't place why though. It couldn't be because she is sitting close to Kairi, could it? Why though? It's true that she thought that Kairi as cute, intelligent, and sweet. She was her friend though. Above all that, she was a girl. Sora was a girl. I mean, she probably never thinks of me like that? Or does she? The many thoughts cause Sora to blush uncontrolably.
Finally, Kairi spoke, "I just... Tomorrow is a big day. We finally get to go out there and see all those worlds."
Calming down, Sora understood why she wanted to talk now. "Yeah. It's exciting, and kinda scary."
Kairi answered with a silent nod. Then she looked at Sora, and smiled. "I'm so glad I have a friend like you. I've always lo...liked you." A faint blush appeared on the other girl's cheeks.
Did she just...? Nah... It isn't what it appeared. Your mind is playing tricks on you. It has to be...
