Shaking her head, Sora dismissed the strange thoughts. Sora looked over at Kairi and smiled as she said, "Maybe we should go home now."
Kairi gazed back and then nodded. "Yeah, maybe you're right."
They stood. Kairi wondered off first. Sora stood, watching her walk away. As she turns back to where the setting sun was, she noticed that it had gotten dark faster than anticipated. Almost too fast. She looked around and cocked an eyebrow.
The moon raised into the sky. Threatening all that were below it. A great darkness seemed to surround Sora. Her heart seemed to twist from it, fighting back a great despair that she couldn't understand. That is when she spotted Riku on the tall island where he almost always could be found.
Jumping off of the dock, she began to run toward the island. Suddenly she came to a stop. Darkness from the surroundings seemed to snake forward on the ground. Strange, small beings were born from within the aybss. They sniveled forward. Sora looked at them, for small creatures, they filled her with fear. There was something surpremely threatening about them. Almost like they could reach deep inside of her, and rip her very soul out of her. Gulping, she narrowed her eyes a bit more, and then quickly dove into the water. She swam with all her ability; hoping that they were not going to follow her.
Sora got a ledge, and then climbed up the latter that was there. She found Riku standing there. There was something definately different about him. Sora couldn't figure out what it could be anyway. She approached him slowly.
"Riku...what's going on? What are those things? What's up with this darkness?" Sora asked pitifully.
Slowly Riku looked at Sora, and grinned oddly gently. "This darkness is the call to destiny," he explained. Turning to Sora, he held out his hand. "Join me. Come."
Sora started to walk forward, but then she looked at his feet. She noticed that there was darkness developing underneath him. Sora could also tell that Riku knew it was there, but he still wasn't struggling. He was allowing it to take him in. Sora attempted to move forward again, but found that her feet will not move. Looking down, she found that the same darkness was under her. Her eyes widen, and she does struggle. All she could hear as the darkness pulled her in was strange demented laughing. Was that Riku? No... It was someone else. Who?
