Golden Destinies: Vr. 4: Big Trouble in Bigger Asgard [Episode 109071]

by Sect

Gods don't normally show fear; after all, on the food chain of life, they're pretty much on top. Greater goddesses, like Bastet, have even less reason to fear anything, due to the fact that they were pretty much some of the strongest beings in the current universe.

Of course, that's when they're not in front of a pissed off creator.

Ears drooping, Bast walked up to Kami-sama in his throne room. Kami-sama, being a fickle god, usually changed his appearance and his throne room to either his own tastes or to adjust for any visitors. Currently, his room was a sea of whiteness, that should by all rights blind Bastet if she was mortal; that didn't mean that it still didn't hurt alot. The only decor in the room was the large, offwhite desk, and the large, almost ebony black figure sitting behind it: Kami-sama himself.

Bast gulped as she stopped in front of the desk, where Kami-sama looked at her with dark orbs, which could only be seperated from the rest of his "body" by the star field that was encased in the orbs. "Um... yes, father?" she whimpered pathetically.

Kami-sama did not respond for a long period of time, which made the tension strain. Finally, he responded, in a deep, booming voice. "Bastet, I must say that I am very upset with you."

Bastet looked at him questioningly. "Wha- what? Why?" she asked in a confused voice. She knew that it had to do ith Ranma, somehow, but she didn't know how.

"Because of your actions concerning Ranma Saotome, of course," was the answer given. Before Bast could try to explain her actions, the greatest of all deities cut her off. "You have already given me your explainations as to why you have taken him from his home, and we both know that interfering with the lich's spell was the best choice at the time."

Silence reigned for a few seconds, then Bast voiced a question. "Then why did you call me here? I don't..."

She knew that she messed up big time when the starry orbs narrowed. "YOU DESTROYED MY CODING!!! YOU HAVE IGNORED ONE OF MY FEW DECREES!!!" he roared, causing the Egyptian goddess to fall back in fear as wind rushed out of nowhere, ruffling her fur. In a much quieter tone, he added, "And we both know that it was unneccesary."

"It... was?" Bast asked in stunned confusion, not even attempting to stand up. The mighty deity's head shook in the negative.

"I know that you, as well as several of the other greater powers do not like the Yggdrasil interface, but you must be able to use it efficiently," he continued.

Bast finally got the nerve to stand back up. "But... but... I was able to save him..." she said weakly, then cowered back as the glare returned. Thankfully, she did not have to suffer his booming voice.

"And he nearly died," he reminded. His voice softened somewhat, though. "Bastet. I was lenient with you when you took Ranma under your protection, even though some of my other children, Eris and Loki, for example, protested this decision," Kami-sama reminded. "However, I can no longer allow any more divine intervention in this case."

Bast gaped up at Kami-sama. "What are you going to...?"

"Do not worry, I shall not take Ranma Saotome away from the were-cheetah. However, his mission shall continue without help from any beings of Heaven," he stated. Then, he looked off into the distance.

"MERCURY!" his voice boomed. Almost instantaneously, a blue haired god wearing worn clothes and winged sneakers appeared.

"Yeah-dad-what-do-ya-want-me-ta-do-for-ya?" he asked in a rapid voice.

The Almighty looked down at the messenger god. "You have heard my decree. First, tell Ranma Saotome all that has happened, then return, and spread the word that he is now off limits," he commanded.

"Your-wish-is-my-command-dad-see-ya-later!" With that somewhat said, the Greek god practically vanished. Then, Kami-sama turned to Bastet, who was paling.

"Your punishment shall be to go through remedial programming classes. They shall go on until I am satisfied that your interfacing ability is up to par," he informed her. Bastet, fortunately, surpressed a groan, in fear that he would expect more.
