Golden Destinies: Vr. 3: Just a Little Angry [Episode 109094]

by C_S_

Ranma was angry.

Such a simple phrase, that in no way expressed how truly mad he was.

He was once again enraged with Jonathan, for causing the tragedy that was slowly unfolding before his eyes.

He was severely irked with Julia and Theo, his longtime friends, for essentially giving up. He had always envied and admired the love they shared, and felt that such a thing should be fought for relentlessly.

Theo had him far more furious that Julia though. The man's only daughter had just cried herself to sleep in his arms, after finding out about the current developments through a letter, a letter!, that Julia had sent from the Jaden Realm. Ranma didn't consider himself the best father on the planet, but he certainly realized that the place Theo was needed most now was at his daughter's side, comforting her, instead of getting drunk in some bar like he most likely was.

But most of all, Ranma was incensed with himself. Julia was probably the best friend he'd ever had, and her husband, 'Blondie', was an equally likable person. Both had greeted him with nothing but kindness when they'd first met him, had given him a place to live, helped him become a good father to Brittany. And what had he done when this crises had been brought upon their happiness?

Nothing.

It had seemed like a logical thing, at the time. Magic had been used to place a curse upon Julia, one far worse than the simple transformation curse he'd gained back in his home realm. In all the years he'd had the curse, he had never actually cured it. How could he, one with no more magical experience than that of an idiot who had taken a dive into a spring, cure such a debilitating curse that not even the most powerful mages in existence could cure it? Looking back now, he realized he'd been afraid of what might have happened if he had made a mistake. Brought the curse to bare upon himself, or, shudder to think it, Brittany. But now it was too late to be afraid. His friend's family was falling apart at the seams, and he had to help mend it.

His course of action set, Ranma stood from Gina's bed and left her to sleep in a little longer. She would probably have to rush to get ready for school in time, but at least it would keep her mind of her parents divorce for a short time.

It was a good thing he didn't have to drive that stupid carpool today. He had quite a lot to do.
