”Without a shadow of a doubt Gaja,” Panthra nodded.
Marcus, out of his armor and in trousers and a tunic sat on the sofa beside his wife, rubbing his neck which he was able to get some anti-silver salve applied to. “His skill, looks and fighting style match Tsunami sir plus he didn’t speak normally but through telepathy.”
”But why in the nine hells would a Weapons Master attack somebody?” Aeila exclaimed as she clasped Marcus’s hand. She hadn’t been all too happy when she opened the door to find her husband and friend carrying in an injured mage at this hour but her displeasure had faded mostly.
”Good question, especially when said victim is his son-in-law.” Gaja mused. He idly looked at the door to the room where Theodore Digger’s rested. Gaja had brought a healer with him that patched him up and left just a short while ago.
”His son-in-law?!” The others exclaimed aghast.
”Indeed, this is rather troubling.” Gaja did not know the Digger’s family very well with the exception of Jonathon Diggers, but then again it was tense as they did not see eye-to-eye on some issues. He knew Armsmaster Julia mostly as an acquaintance and ditto with Theodore. Because he had been called in to help pool ideas to undo the curse on Julia Digger’s he knew there was some tension with the family, but this was unexpected.
”So what do we do Gaja? Tsunami promised he’d come back for him, and threatened Marcus and I if we tried to interfere again,” Panthra inquired.
Gaja stroked his beard. Normal standard procedure was to put out wanted posters, but there might be a panic if the populace thought one of the Weapons Master’s had gone ape-shit and possibly homicidal. He needed to find out what caused all this before did anything that might incite a unnecessary panic. “First we’ll put Theodore Digger’s into protective custody of the Edge Guard and move him to our resident office in the morning. If Tsunami is foolish enough to try another attempt, he’ll be incurring the wraith of the entire Edge Guard. Second; I am personally going to Ryden and find out what the hell is going on straight from the Brigands myself.”
”Is that a wise idea Gaja?” Aeila voiced with a hint of concern.
”It does warrant some danger if Tsunami or the entire family is in on his attack, but it is the only course of action I can think of to get any straight-forward answers…or at the east confirm we have a serious threat that warrants us to plaster a Weapons Master’s face on wanted posters in all the Hamlet’s.”
The other Edge Guard members nodded in understanding as they started to get the reasoning behind Gaja’s plan.
”Panthra if you want you can get Thropan and stay with us tonight just incase. Safety in numbers you know.” Aeila said to her friend.
”Our home is your home and all that,” Marcus smiled with a bit of humor, trying to lighten the mood.
Panthra shook her head, “I’ll stay but Thropan is safer at home with my sister, than with me going out to get him and bringing him here.”
Aeila and Marcus nodded understandingly. “Alright, but I hope you don’t mind sleeping on a futon in the guest room since the guestroom bed is in use.” Aeila said.
”I’ve slept on bare rock before; a futon will be perfectly fine.” Panthra smiled.
Gaja chuckled, and gave his subordinates a nod. “Well I’m going to go get some sleep myself and then teleport to Ryden first thing in the morning. You all be careful.”
”You too Gaja.”
The mage turned and opened the door and left the house, Marcus got up and put the bolt lock, and wooden block in place. He turned to face his wife and friend. “We should get some shuteye as well.”
The two women nodded and everybody went to get ready for bed.
